In General Caucasus is a powerhouse in most Grappling sports, Judo Wrestling etc. Georgia is South Caucasus (independent country) and Dagestan is North Caucasus republic within Russia. Both countries have produced some of the biggest legends in Wrestling and Judo (and not only). So you would have to say that there is a certain level of rivalry, now that the Georgians have arrived in the UFC at the top level.
