It sounds like they’re experimenting a little so I’m curious to see where they’ll go with this. Ember was definitely their darkest, more aggressive album. And from I’ve heard, Ben had a really rough few years after Ember was released with his divorce and everything. I just hope the guitars are more audible and his vocals aren’t too drowned out by the auto tune this time around. I hope that Keith, Jason, Aaron have more say with writing songs too because songs like Never Again and Tourniquet were written by all of them, which were absolutely incredible. But I’m excited because he’s screaming again and his vocals have improved so much live over the past few years. So happy for this news!

I’d like to see what they can do considering jasen has been experimenting. Ember was really the first shot the new breaking Ben had to let the new members shine some fresh light on the band

I always wonder what that 2012 BB album would of sounded like... giving dubstep and Eletronic stuff was really popping off around this time. Anyways, I am so excited about the new BB. I mostly feel super curious about what their going to bring this time around. I do like your idea of them going more metalcore and infusing that into their sound. It would be cool to have that level of heaviness mixed in with some more heavy power ballads and classic emotional BB but hopefully a big sound following ember.

breaking benjamin recent stuff shows that the band like to have songs with lore and music videos so that will probably delay the album a couple of months even if they finish recording the songs, ember had like, 3 MV songs and even aurora had one as well

This is exciting! I think Ember might have been their best album yet, with Phobia and Dear Agony directly behind. I thought Dark Before Dawn was the weakest of their last 4 outside of the masterpiece that is Ashes of Eden, so hopefully this is more like Ember. But, honestly, Dark Before Dawn was still great too. Exciting stuff, thanks for the update!

Honestly, I kinda would more so want a Dark Before Dawn type album, with the emotional authenthic songs. Those have always stuck with me the most. But I do love Ember, even if not as much, I still really love the heaviness and melodies, very ear-candy. And while every song on Ember is amazing, it's so overprocessed and epic/huge, that every time I listen to the full album, I get tired of it towards the end. It's tiring to listen as a whole, especially when all the tracks almost sound the same. DBD doesn't do that for me, but I would be okay with both sounds

This is not the album I necessarily think we deserve so much as need, right now. I know its unlikely that the album drops until 2024, but a even a single or two (by year's end) would be MUCH appreciated! I'm going to be honest and say that, for me personally, 2023 has been exceptionally unexceptional year for rock and metal. Sleep Token, Delain, and Pop-Evil released some great albums, but after them, it has been a lot of 4-6/10s for me. I really hope that Red doesn't disappoint with "Rated R," as it is the last album I'm actively looking forward to this year.

A few BB songs to close the year would be a dream come true! 2023 has been very underwhelming for me as well. I haven’t even felt inspired to do album reviews or anything just because this year has been so boring. Sleep Token, Pierce the Veil and Invent Animate put out some incredible albums but where are all the hidden gems this year!? I’m still beyond excited for the new Polaris album and cautiously optimistic for the new Red album so hopefully we get a strong finish to the year.

@RockingWithRobby My sisters ADORE Pierce The Veil, and keep recommending them. I'm probably going to give it a listen soon. As far as what I've been listening to, Kamelot's album was good, but not great. The Used's new album was alright, but just didn't really scream "must listen" material. I don't know what the hell Avenged Sevenfold was on while recording "Life Is But A Dream," and even the singles produced by, or featuring, Bring Me The Horizon have been 50/50 for me. I think the highlights for me this year have been (besides the three albums I mentioned in the initial comment), Linkin Park's 20th Anniversary of Meteora, Nik Nocturnal's reimagining of the K-Pop song UNFORGIVEN, Against The Current's single "good guy," and Smash Into Pieces' single "Flow."

Thanks for the update Robby! Yeah man, this could mean the lyrics are done & vocals are being knocked out last...Christmas/New Years?! Ohhh baby! If I had to take a guess, I'd say we're looking at somewhere between NIN's With Teeth & Metallica's And Justice for All, possibly even straying into some Gojira-ish experimentation. Dark but not gritty, insomuch as I would always call BB's production "clean" no matter how heavy they go. Same for vocals minus Hetfield, meaning in addition to Ember's layering there may be quite a lot of experimental filtering as in Gojira's The Way of All Flesh. I also expect more duet/group singing, especially to let Keith shine on the cleans while Ben goes rougher about the edges. Whatever it is, I'm stoked. My truck still has a CD player in it & the copy of Ember is almost worn down 😂 So thankful the lads are going to get that Lucky Number 7 addition to a legendary catalogue.

Agree about the thicc vocals on ember. I always prefer my recorded music vocals to have that sounds vs the more raw and thin sound. Take Lights Out for example, I think Ben’s voice sounds anemic when with a couple of layers it could have been more enjoyable for me
