@richardgray74473 жыл бұрын
Lmfao !!! The performances on shows like this , Dick Clark and even some of the Performances on Ed Sullivan the few times they had a crowd being filmed dancing while the guest musician performed. ( Usually Sullivan showcased the guest musician performing rather than kids dancing around the musicians ) ... Anyway ... It was a pretty common thing in the 50’s and 60’s to film people dancing to the newest songs of the hottest groups of the time. More often than not ( and almost exclusively white folks ) the kids in the dance showcase COULD NOT DANCE FOR SHIT !!! ) lmfao 🤣... I don’t know if the Television shows just happened to get the worst dancers or if they went out of their way to locate the Whitest , rigid , suburban , absolutely most horrible dancers they could find 🤣😂🤣😂 If you come across any other TV shows featuring kids dancing to the big hits of their day , It’s almost certain that the dancing will be horrible. If it was an all white dancing showcase , it was almost always terrible ... If it was an integrated cast of dancers ( Black , Hispanic, White ) , Whenever the camera held long enough for you to watch one of the non-white dancers , you could be certain that the non-white dancers were killing it while the white folks looked on and sometimes attempted to mimic the non-white dancers !!! LMFAO ... Then we reached the 70’ and shows like “ Soul Train “ and “ Midnight Special “ had a format that generally showcased black folks dancing styles and capabilities. It is not racist nor is it wrong to say that black folks are for the most part superior dancers who contain much better rhythm and control than white folks have. That’s not to say that there wasn’t or to this day isn’t white folks who can dance extremely well , however ... It almost a guaranteed assumption that when white folks can dance extremely well , their biggest dance influences are going to be black folks. It’s definitely a stereotype to say that generally speaking , Black folks are almost always better dancers than white folks ... However, I’m of the opinion that saying that “ Black folks are generally better dancers than most other folks “ is a Stereotype that Black folks should be proud of having the stereotype bestowed upon them. These old broadcasts of these musical performances on all of the hugely popular shows to the lesser known shows are definitive proof of my statement and opinion !!! Lol

@@richardgray7447 You have a inferiority complex there, sunshine. It’s 2022 and Black kids are killing it better than ever to the latest hits. It all comes from the mind so don’t think for a second that our dancing generates from anything other than our genetic supremacy.

I know this comment is old now, but it’s sad we as a country can’t progress and unite as one, even on this beautiful song/video we have people victimizing themselves over something they weren’t even alive to experience. We can not overcome racism and for lack of better words “bury the hatchet” if both sides continue to reignite hate. UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL
@JonHop14 жыл бұрын
You are under some incredible delusion.. During the early 60's things were very Progressive and I'd say a large percentage of white people were not racist, nor did they not like black people. For white people, during the 40s and 50's, it was more culture shock than anything for most white people moreso than racism. Like with ANY people or any color, people dont really take well to change. THe Amount of people I personally saw that were racist and hated black people were minority even then in the 60's. And its funny, most of the people commenting about this hatred of black people during these times were not even alive. And as someone born in the 50's as a mixed child, I can assure you, I have some rare perspective of BOTH sides during those times.

It lasted less than 3 years.. But he actually wasnt a bad Comedian at all. He was hamstrung by the networks at the time. He was a different person at the comedy clubs. But if you didnt know, he was making a joke about the instrument in the song(which I sadly played in high school lol) the "guiro".. They used it in cartoons for sound effects a lot and used it during fight scenes in cartoons. Hence the joke.. Probably tough to understand for you young folk. How old were you in 65?
