I met up with Ben Gravy while I was in New Jersey for O'Neill Wave of the Winter premieres. He showed me around his hometown Novelty Zone, and we scored a Trifecta, capping it off with PUMPING EL SLAMMO! That just got me SO amped for summer surf.

Love your Vlog. The black drum part of this was pretty sweet. Where I grew up and live part of the time year we wouldn't even thing of throwing artificial at them, all bottom fishing with clam and peeler crab, so that was cool to see. Way more fun the way you guys get em!

I'd love to meet up with him. He's pretty big time though, haha, maybe one day. As far as the filming/edit behind the fishing in this... I did all of it, besides when Matt Lusk held the camera on me when i was catching 1. I do all my own editing 100% of the time.

Hey Brett, big fan of the vlog and your tutorial videos are absolutely the best! What do you recommend in terms of equipment for intermediate surfers just attempting surfing more heavy waves and barrels? Seen you ride fairly short stepups like your pig dog pro model but are they suitable for someone less proficient in tube riding, or should they stick to more standard longer step ups? Yeeew! More tutorials soon they are super helpful.

yes because trying to ride heavier waves on longer boards is actually more difficult. Longer Step Ups are proper for taller waves... but not necessarily more heavy. If you're goal is tube hunting, then a PigDog pro is your best bet, regardless of being Intermediate or Advanced.

I always shoot way more than I need... so takes time to go through and pick the best clips. But that question has no answer.... it all depends on what you are shooting.

​@@scottsprinkel3914 I really appreciate that! I shoot a lot for each video... and it adds up for sure. While i don't know how many hours of footage i shoot per episode... to put it in perspective at least, the last 3 Vlogs all have between 100gb and 125gb of video files in each of their folders. The 3 or 4 vlogs before that all averaged 40-70gb of footage per episode because they were more surfing. I think the fishing takes up more space cause I'm trying to get the bite shot, and filming the whole catch. Compared to waves that are 8-20sec long. I just looked, and since the first week of April, i have shot 500gb of footage...
