Whenever someone dies, I always remember the quote from Keannu Reeves. Stephen Colbert tried to corner him on his show and asked him "What do think happens after we die?" Keannu replied he didn't know, but he was sure that his family and friends would miss him. So at this time I feel sorry for Ben. I lost my mom several years ago. Now, 24 years later and i see this clip and it sounds weird but at 8:20 of the video when Jerry goes from character to...who he actually is... I started tearing up uncontrollably. In like a single sentence, gone was the character of the yelling crazy old man who was off his rocker - and instead I saw a loving father, who would do anything for his kids happiness and could not be more proud. I enjoyed this interview very much. It reminded me of when my sister and I met Stiller & Meara many years ago when we were about 12 & 13 respectively. Our grandma had gotten us tickets to see this network television talk show that was filming outdoors at the time. We really enjoyed the show. During a break, the celebs who were on stage as guests started walking around. This one C list "star" who we were so impressed with at the time but who was famous for about 10 minutes walked by us. My sister and I started jumping up and down as asking him if he would please sign our autograph books. He flipped his had and looked at us in such a mean, nasty way and then walked off. We felt really bad about the situation and didn't understand what we did wrong. Unknown to us at the time, Anne Meara saw what happened, grabbed her husband and walked over to us. She asked in this really kind voice something like "Hey kids, would you like us to sign your autograph books?" They signed our books, talked to us, and made us feel really special. They were so kind and gracious. Stiller and Meara, what a class act. You could see where Ben didn't fall too far from the tree.

Jerry is so legendary. Natural comedy at its pure glory. It’s actually intimidating for anyone to be funny alongside him lol He sets the bar so high

This was in the days of the mid 1990s when Ben still had his dad Jerry & his mom Anne. Sure they were both senior citizens at this point but they both still had their mental & physical capacities, both pretty healthy. And had around 2 decades of life left to live. Please appreciate your loved ones while they are still around. 01/10/25
