Awwwwww this is so sweet I swear !! I don't watch the show (and don't plan to) but your video gave me all the feels. I think the VHS effect is actually perfect for this specific vid because of the way the show is shot (handheld camera), and also because of the sweet, nostalgic vibe of the song. ;)
