I was minding my own business researching investing in Brazil. Via some strange Googlation I landed on a video of Melissa Rutz dancing with Ben Morris in Brazil. HELP! I can't stop watching Melissa dance, over and over. I've now found probably every web video of her (about 90 so far). Does anyone else have this affliction? I need to get on with my life. If only to escape this computer and follow in the footsteps of the goddess of my new religion and take lessons in beginning West Coast Swing :-) Hope she comes up Seattle way again.

Stacy McCarthy No, the malady stayed with me. I just managed to "manage" it. I still KZbin-google Melissa regularly. Ben Morris and Robert Boyce are also awesome. But for lightning fast creative "following", Melissa takes the cake! I fear a recent lumbar injury will now prevent me from continuing with WCS as much as I was hoping. Time will tell.

Maxence was dancing with Melissa prior and his Knee cap popped out in the middle of the dance and he went down in excruciating pain. they took him in the back and it popped itself back in on its own about 10 minutes later. They wheeled him out and had some volunteers making sure he didn't get hurt and that's why Ben slid towards him. Maxence was killing it before had. Was a really well thought out dance to.

What a BS comment. Years of hard work and building up tons of muscle memory plus obviously high talent in this case gave them room to not think about steps, but listen to the music. Nothing anyone does to a high skill level "just comes from being a true whatever" ... it is always hard work getting there.

They obviously both know the second song very well. IF Ben had this all choreographed in his head and he just lead her through it he would still be a genius mastermind. If he just pulled these moves out of his hat than he is nearer to superhuman status. He knows Melissa and what she will probably do with his moves,,, I suspect they have rehearsed some to that song ,which in no way lessons my respect for this performance. Whatever the circumstances that brought them to that song at that moment ,,, MELISSA ,,, Goddess status.....she owned it, invented it, inspired it. Ben, you have snatched the pebble from my hand with your eyes closed, you have caught the fly with chopsticks now you are ready,,, the next test ,, walk on water
