Cold and wet isn’t nice I don’t blame you for canning the climb Soren we had amazing conditions for February the only sketchy part being the white out on the summit plateau 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏔️ so navigation was important to avoid taking over the North face 🙏🏼 Hope your well best regards Simon 🤠👍🏔️

Challenging climb- you were all certainly up to it! Very challenging on those icy flagstones… we hiked a little in Ireland, and they warned us of the slippery flagstones just when they were wet. Whew, great job. The winter views were wonderful. Your right about the melt re freeze 🥶 you get on the flag stone’s Jennifer it’s is very sketchy way more than the traditional natural ice and snow higher up the hill (I kept the crampon on a lot lower on the descent for this reason to be honest Jen) And Skye is a trooper isn’t she (so proud 😊 🙏🏼🏔️) You a Steve have a great weekend 👍 Simon

I have been on the summit of Ben Nevis 4 times but only once in the snow, on my 60th birthday when we made the Scottish BBC news for sliding down in the snow, drunk lol (long story). Nice early start with superb 360 views and I bet you were pleased you had those crampons, real white out on the summit. Hi Donna The name stems from the pony’s used in the construction of an observatory on the summit plateau of Ben Nevis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏔️built in the late 1800’s (now a ruin ) It’s been rebranded the Mountain path but everyone in the Uk knows it as the Pony track. 👍13 cracking shots of the Nevis range. 4AM!? Id be getting up for my first middle of the night wees at that time 😂 ah love Fort William, never seen it at that time though! Thats a fair walk to the trail head from there. I guess you saved on the parking though! What a glorious day for it, very clear and crisp. Great timing on the crampons. Cracking views back to the Loch. Nice and calm at the summit too ❤ one of my favourite climbs and time of year to do it! 👍

What a beautiful sight for your adventure as the day wakes up. I've faced white out before when skiing, It sounds like it was tricky underfoot for a while. The views were stunning and so worth the effort Simon. its scary when you can't separate the land from the sky.

That’s a great way of putting it Celine (unnerving 😳🏔️) fortunately the compass didn’t let us down🙏🏼 (but you can see why things can go wrong very easily) But it was a fab climb in relatively calm weather conditions for Ben Nevis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏔️ You and Colin will have to take a vacation up in the White mountains in New Hampshire (I think 🤔) they are very similar to the Scottish highlands (more wooded though) they where once joined and where created together too 🏔️🏔️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏔️🏔️🇺🇸 But big thanks for stopping by ATB Simon 🤠👍
