Honestly, Ben as Chasm is extremely forced. If Peter didn't trust the device from Beyond there are countless super scientists who could have fixed the issue.

When I read that issue of Spider-Man where Ben falls into the goo, I made a joke to my brother that he fell into some Baja Blast and became Chasm and we haven't stopped laughing at that since.

I've always thought that Ben's story was to prove that he and Peter were not the same person and they had a similar moral compass. Now you are telling me even though he has his own live, his own love interest, he feels that the memories of another is what truly defines him now? I'm not getting it. I know it's all mental manipulation, but still I'm not getting Ben's backlash. He still has his life, he still has his love, he still can make something work out for himself if he focus on who he is now. But that's just me and probably this whole story arc about to take place. It's a contrived story arc. For whatever reason they want Ben Reilly clone to be an enemy, maybe because they tried him being the Scarlet Spider but it didn't sell.

I think u answered your own question; they are different people with the same moral compass. But losing Pete’s memories also takes away that compass. Peter is the way he is because of his experiences and the love he got from his aunt and uncle. Ben never experienced those things, but due to the memories he knows what they felt like, and even tho they aren’t unique to him, still shaped him into a good person. Without those memories, yea he probably KNOWS he should be a good person, but he no longer has the foundation those memories held. It’s the same thing with people who lose their memories in real life. U can tell them That they liked doing this, or they were in a relationship with this person, but because they no longer have a foundation of what they like and dislike based on experience that doesn’t mean as they are now(a blank slate) they would still enjoy those things And that’s what I think is eating away at Ben. He still has memories of living and acting on that foundation he had, and he actively knows that pieces are missing so not having it feels even more apparent to him.

Or to even take it further, those memories are what make him a Spider-Man. As we saw, Ben no longer has “with great power comes great responsibility”. He can’t be a spider-man, either he has to recover those memories or have a new “uncle Ben” moment like the characters in Spiderverse movie.

They described losing his memories like having the foundation of a scaffolding removed which caused a total collapse of his mental framework. He has lost all sense of his self identity that he based his own life experiences on. I think this distinction is important because its not just losing the memories of uncle Ben and aunt may and everything but the fallout that had on the rest of his entire mental framework.

Honestly, I hope that the storyline with the seven Eddie Brocks ends with the 7th form being the Enigma Force. In the King in Black comics, the Enigma Force was the perpetual rival of Knull. They even describe the Enigma Force as being similar to a symbiote. I mean, the comic even ends with Eddie bonding with the Enigma Force to kill Knull, added with the new time travel capabilities that he’s gained learning in the Garden, I think that Eddie’s perfect form would be to become the perfect symbiote, a symbiote bonded to the universe itself, taking the fight to where it began…Knull.

This is a great story because it relays the very same experience of many humans. Comics are cool because even the writers, though they refer to God as “The One Above All” they maintain his authority and power. The very bring who spoke with Peter Parker a while back. In short, if you’ve made it this far… know that it is all connected. Fiction is our divine way of peering beyond our Universe, a branch of the Omniverse. All that we read is occurring somewhere.

I've been out of the comic book loop for many years. I thought the clone of Spiderman dissolved, thus proving that Peter Parker was real and the real Spiderman. I know it's comics, but if there are new clones of Parker/Spiderman running around, then how are any of them Ben Reilly if he dissolved? Or is it just because comics? I could say the same thing for Kaine (didn't he die at some point as well??) They really have to decide 1. If they are going to kill a Spiderman clone and 2. He should stay dead.

You seem to be breaking your head a lot for something that is simpler than it seems, in short there are no other clones of Peter Parker there are only Ben Reilly and Kaine, the Ben Reilly you saw from this video is the same Ben Reilly from the 90's. Ben came back taunting death by the Jackal who killed and revived Ben several times, then Ben had his revenge by killing the Jackal, after that Ben went crazy for all the deaths and resurrections Ben suffered at the hands of the Jackal, Ben became a villain for all that and then had his redemption arc, the rest is history that you will have to look up yourself, also lastly Marvel will not kill neither Ben nor Kaine when can profit from those characters, so too bad for you because that nonsense will never happen.

My own (fan fiction) idea for bringing back Ben back in the 90s was to build off of the story where he attempted to trap Carnage by forever holding the symbiote to himself. Basically, Carnage randomly produces an offspring that seems completely obsessed with Spider-Man, but seeks no host. It breaks into Peter Parker's home, screaming for his blood. The fight is brief, however, as the creature stops after getting a single drop. It then "swallows" a vase which Peter has high on a bookshelf, containing Ben's Remains. (I figured Peter would have saved the goo, much as people might save the ashes of deceased loved ones.) The thing then forms into a vaguely humanoid shape and runs away. It later is found breaking into an osborne lab, where Spider-Man tries to stop it. The thing manages to zap itself with radiation that Peter recognizes as the same kind that irradiated the spider that gave him his powers. The creature then "spits" the vase out of its stomach and takes a stable human form as Ben. From this point on, he exists as a human/symbiote hybrid. He doesn't need to bond like other symbiotes, but has limited shape shifting abilities, able only to change the color of his flesh, though initially not to anything looking human. It would also be a while before he could gain enough control to give himself hair.
