Roethlisberger practically redefined what it means to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. He didn't always do the right thing, or say the right thing, just like all of us. But he gave everything he had to win games and rings, and the Steelers were never out of the fight with him under center. He was an inspiration to Steeler fans everywhere.

@@MMMHOTCHEEZE …you think after watching his career highlights/story/legacy that he didn’t give everything he had? That’s the only thing you could be referring to. The dude has every steeler record ever and top 5 to top 10 all time in the nfl for almost every stat. Hell he played through breaking his nose against the Ravens to win the game, as well as numerous other injuries. Is that maybe what you’re referring to, not being able to play to 100% over the years playing through injuries and old age? Just remember who our backups have been in the years when he’s played through injury. It’s been a long time since Batch, Vick, Leftwich etc were the backups and we had a fighting chance without Ben. Towards the latter half of his career we’ve had backups like Mason, Duck, Jones, Dobbs. Like the original comment said, any time Ben was out there, it felt like we had a chance to win. Example: Ben wasn’t starting due to a foot injury against the Browns in 2015. Vick was injured too and they started Landry Jones. Everyone felt like we were going to be doomed with Landry in and wanted Ben to play through the foot/ankle injury because he was listed as active. Then Landry went down and couldn’t play, and an injured Ben won the game as a backup QB throwing almost 400 yards and 3 TDs. Always a good chance with Ben on the field.

I know Bradshaw had 4 superbowls, but in my honest opinion, Big Ben is the greatest Steeler of all time. All the records, the 50+ comebacks, the 3 SB appearances, all of that stuff is nice, but what I’m taking with me for the rest of my life, is the NEVER giving up until the clock hits 0, and always finding a way to win, ugly or pretty, for him, it was always about winning. Thank you #7. Thank you for being a Pittsburgh Steeler your whole career. The best city in the world, and the best team in history.

When I saw the leg injury at the end of the second half where it looked SO BAD almost to the point of a season or career ending injury I was crushed!!! But then I saw you come back on the field ready to play after halftime I cried like a baby & INSTANTLY KNEW that you were one of the GREATEST Steeler's QB's in HISTORY to EVER put on a Steelers Uniform PERIOD!!! Growing up a Cowboys fan I have so much respect for the Steelers Orginization, let alone a Big Ben fan because of my grandparents. They never watched sports but for some reason they love watching Big Ben, Troy Polamalu, and The Terrible Towel on television. My grandfather never got to see his idol finish with 18 great seasons but watching him this year and these videos made me think about him and wonder what would he we feel and say if I were to show this to him. Thank you Big Ben! God bless!

Big Ben was the most complete QB of this century. He was the toughest QB of this century and he was the best "football player" to play regular QB in this century. He was also the king of the 4th qtr comeback as he was the only QB ever to accomplish all of the following: (1) Lead the NFL in 4th qtr comebacks in 4 seasons. (2) Make at least 4 4th qtr comebacks in 4 seasons. (3) Make at least one 4th qtr comeback in each of his 1st 15 seasons in the NFL. Oh, and he also just happened to be this century's greatest play maker. He is the only merger era (since 1970) 2-time super bowl winning QB to finish his career with at least 7.6 pass Y/A for his regular season career and at least 7.6 pass Y/A for his post season career. Most coaches consider Y/A the single most telling passing stat.

The Steelers will be lucky if they can find another franchise quarterback in the next 10 years. They will be up against some of the best young QB's in the league just in the AFC . They should concentrate on building the best defense and offensive line they can. Teams have won the SB without a hall of Fame QB.

Thank you Ben! So grateful to have become a Steelers fan a couple years before you were drafted when I was a kid. You were drafted when I was 13 years old, just starting to really understand the game and brought so much happiness and excitement into my world. The Steelers became my life, I was obsessed lol. My room was decked out in Steelers gear as a kid and the year they won the Super Bowl my Dad took me on a trip to PA to see a prime time game in person. Ben and the Steelers are the reason for my love of football and football season is always the thing I look forward to most every year, and I’m so excited to pass that on to my daughter now. She’ll never get to sit there and yell “cmon Ben!” as you lead the team on a game winning drive in the 4th when she’s old enough to understand but because you played this last season I have a video of her sitting there with me yelling “let’s go Ben!” (which is amazing because she’s not even 3 and I hadn’t said let’s go Ben in over 5 minutes 😂) Again thank you so much for putting your body on the line for Steeler Nation, we’ll never forget the almost 2 decades of amazing football you gave us! I’m 20 minutes from Canton so you better believe I’ll be there for the induction!

Incredible career! Watched him all the way from a rookie, and never ever doubted he was The Man, all the way to his last year. Just wish Antonio and LeVeon could have stayed with him for a few years longer so that he could match Terry Bradshaw and that great 70's team for Super Bowl victories. Those Steeler teams from the first decade of the 2000's were the best show in football! Thanks for all the great performances and memories. I'm a Cincinnati Bengals Fan, (most Bengals Fans don't like Ben or the Steelers), however I was a Big Ben Roethlisberger Fan when he went to Miami of Ohio and I knew that his College Quarterback Football Championship Caliber Play would lead him to a Legend in the NFL. When he went to the Steelers Franchise, I knew that the Bengals were in TROUBLE. I knew that it was gonna be hard to beat the Steelers with Ben Roethlisberger as their Quarterback. My Niece Megan went to School with him and one of her Majors @ Miami of Ohio was Physical Education and she helped the Football Team out and developed a comeradery with Ben. He lost his first game and won the rest of his Junior year and was undefeated his Senior Year and followed the same path to the NFL and won 13 straight. What the film didn't mention is that he was injured and I believe that's the only reason why they didn't go on to win a Super Bowl his Rookie Year. He may have broken the Dolphins Record that year. Me and my Nephew went to Tampa when they played the Arizona Cardinals and we were rooting for the Steelers to win. Most people in Cincinnati Ohio don't like Big Ben or at least most Bengals Fans, but I've never been a Hater. Naturally I always rooted for the Bengals when they played against each other, but as far as Good Sportsmanship goes and for my love for the Game of Football, Ben Roethlisberger is one of the Greatest Quarterbacks of all time. There's less than a handful of Great Quarterbacks who accomplished what he has done. He deserves to be recognized and inducted into the Hall of Fame as soon as he's eligible. Nobody can dispute his Greatness as a Great Quarterback. The Statistics also speak for themselves as well

The TD he throws to Holmes, the TD Ben throws to Wallace against the Packers for the W, ALL the great games against the Ravens, He played against the Browns with one leg and lit them up, Broken nose against the Ravens. He promised Bus a trophy after just his first season after they fell short to Brady. But my fondest memories of Ben is my Grandma yelling " god dammit Ben throw the ball away" I'm thankful he got to go out on his sword and in his last game I couldn't help but smile thinking of her. I will defend Ben until I'm blue in the face and if there was less then 2 minutes and we needed him to show up (even if he hadn't been there the whole game) I always felt like we were going to win.
