The Saudi's are playing the long game, taking away the promoters power so they only promote the fighters and not the shows, then they will implement the boxer league like a UFC for boxing, all the boxers will sign to that and hopefully no more four belt era.

Are they though? I've heard pretty good arguments that they are actually asset stripping boxing. They had one of the sports biggest stars flogged in 5 rounds by a guy that doesn't have the personality to generate the same amount of public interest just over a month ago. I mean I don't personally have a big problem with the top guys being made to take hard fights but then I actually like the sport. Plenty of the bums on seats couldn't care less about the sport itself. They just like the beef between fighters and to be associated with a brutal sport for their own image!!

@@messymorton i do not believe they are asset stripping boxing, Saudi Arabia are looking for a sport to take over and be number at, they've invested in football and golf but know that they can't overtake things like the Premier League & the other top leagues and PGA tour & Ryder Cup as an example but boxing even though they have huge venues like Madison square garden and boxing cities like Las Vegas and london with all the stadiums, otherwise Boxing is there for the taking, there is no fighters league like the UFC, the whole sport stinks of corruption, inner politics with sanctioning bodies and promoters hold up or stop the big fights, Boxing also is generally an indoor sport which is perfect for the Saudi Climate, I think it will also be great for the sport with this fighters league based in Saudi, it will be clean and all above board and then they'll also take it to other cities and counties like the UFC does.

Basically turki has just bought boxing given every promotion company enough for them to show there cards and now knows contracts ect if at all I bet he can't believe his luck having to pay individual men instead of a governing body frank got 5% and a huge check eddie got 1% and a huge check Ben's got his pants pulled down and a few quid

As much as I'm not a fan of the Saudi's and their country and their culture, they are the only ones who can clean up the boxing, the most corrupt sport in the planet.
