Look at the state of the current student bodies and recent (past 10-15 years) alumni as opposed to what it used to be pre 2010 and there’s your answer. Also Oxbridge has been desperately and frantically enrolling ‘diverse’ students for the past decade and a half so much so to the point where being Muslim or black - regardless of your grades and moral values - gets you an instant tick. Oxford alumni here-- this was a bad showing from the Union. The lack of basic respect shown to Ben and the utter hostility of both the Union officers and the crowd makes them look extremely childish. It was more than obvious, however, that in this time of "emotional fragility" and myriad deaths in Gaza everyday, that the majority of the community did not want to hear what Ben Shapiro had to say.
