One of the best actors around. Sadly often relegated to minor or supporting roles but one who brings the same if not a greater level presence, be it comedic or otherwise, as the bigger names he shares the movie with. An actor who often provides me with moments I'll find yourself putting the entire movie on just to see, despite often only having one or two to work with. I genuinely see him as the protagonist, let alone the unsung hero and audience surrogate in Stepbrothers. I love how, despite playing a minor role, he's crucial in allowing the mission the entire movie is based around to proceed in Kong: Skull Island. I empathise and sympathise with and love him as the professor who never knew what he had until he didn't in Liberal Arts. I watched Cabin in the Woods specifically because I knew he had again, a very important role, despite sadly acknowledging it wouldn't be one with the most amount of screen time. It's no different when I watch this movie despite it having lightening in a bottle comedic performances like Matt Dillon as Pat Healy and still this man finds the ability to steal the show with the minute amount of time he's got to work with. Bless Richard Jenkins.

When you watch Step Brothers, as funny as Will Ferrell and John C Reilly are in it, the funniest person in the movie is Richard Jenkins. I think it may be the greatest comedy ever made, at least top 5. He improvised the whole "dinosaur" scene at the end at the Catalina Wine Mixer. And watch when they announce to the family on Christmas that they are breaking up. First, he keeps rubbing his neck like he is still sore from falling down the stairs. Then he erupts with the classic, "Oh, it's absolutely 150% your FAULT"!! rant. He is a legend.

Any psychologist if they could XD this scene is a master piece... as soon as he joins back with the paper towel on his neck, licking his fingers and still chewing ... feels like when i was working at a call center back in 2009 and i was rushing to eat, it's literally that. Starving and not being able to have a 30 minute break to have lunch, and as soon as you stopped eating and still chewing, u had a new call, so annoying hahaha
