Brilliant: The piece starts in 4.4. But: The pianist is playing an ostinato figure in 8th notes, grouped in 3's. Simultaneously the saxophone melody is in triplets, grouped in 4's. Mathematically complex and it sounds absolutely organic. Beautiful !

The first time I heard High Heart album when just released, this song captivated me as love at first sight. The crisscross between voice and saxophone in melody with subtle delays in time are simply beautiful, a wave that picks you up and pushes you towards the development of the song, as through min 5:55 after Nate's solo... where those waves get higher and higher. Really great. Waiting for some date to be included in Spain, maybe next summer in north festivals? ;)

Wow. What a journey. 😳 The sax playing is so conversational; reminiscent of the type of stuff Mingus did, trying to emulate speech patterns. Your compositions are so inspiring and mind widening. Side note: loved catching you at Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis right before covid!
