As a new dad, would love to know how you balance sim racing with real life responsibilities? I feel like sim racing takes a lot of practice as opposed to other games you can just pick up easier

@@ginger-viking hey man! So it’s definitely tricky at times. Being a dad basically means I race maybe 3 times a week max, very often once or twice. To help with that I try to focus on cars and tracks I know to minimise practice needed, I focus on fixed setup races and shorter race distances. And I’m not very quick - tending to focus on getting home safely. iRacing is amazing for this because even at a lower iRating you can have really competitive racing! There’s a few sim racing dads in my discord - feel free to swing by and join the support group 😂😂

Love the content Ben - Nice to see a fellow Geordie doing well! Noticed you struggled on the starts so thought I'd share a quick tip that works for me. Max throttle at the start and clutch set to 20%. Give it a go in practice. :)

This week has absolutely tanked my safety rating, and I can honestly say that I’ve only 1x’d myself a few times on track limits all week. Everything else has been people losing their car into me, or braking so late they lock up and take me out. Over 1 whole rating point, down from mid 4’s to low 3’s… not a fan of this combo or this track with Super Formula either haha. Oh well, such is racing I guess. Gotta build it back next week hopefully.

Wow, some terrible racing decisions there. To be fair, the Red Bull Ring does seem to bring out the worst in drivers. Close racing, tricky corners and needing to be on the edge of track limits to have decent pace. Funnily enough I've been exactly where O'Connor was, getting a P2 across the line and getting a post race penalty due to a mistake in that very series of corners (though this was SF23).
