Ahhhh, I'm jealous of all the figs you get to taste. I've only got 6 varieties right now, and I'm trying to not end up with 400 pots to water, lol. You've done a great service to people looking at growing figs by documenting all of this. Thanks again, man!

I only have 4 varieties and they aren't any of these and now I am hoping mine will taste as good.

By the way, Ben, if you can ever propagate a lot of the Golden Riverside, you'll make a fortune selling them. It does sound like winner. I think that you've helped open the eyes of a lot of western Washington residents that didn't realize that so many different figs could be grown in that part of the state successfully.

I agree 100% Steve. Watching Ben's videos gets me excited to know what I can do with figs here. I'm definitely on board with the Golden Riverside. Ben, if you see this comment and ever have a spare G.R., I'm ready to pay the piper!

I'm glad that you like the Hollier fig, Ben. It's been one of my favorite in ground trees here in eastern Washington. I find that it is much more productive if not irrigated in the summer. I've tested same varieties........one irrigated and one not, and the one not irrigated produced a lot more figs. That will not work, of course, on potted trees. I bought my Hollier fig from Louisiana Nursery years ago, and I called them with a question about it, and they didn't know what I was talking about when I said "Hollier". They pronounce it "oh-lee-a. I guess it's a french name. Like you, I'm getting a lot of new figs to taste now. One surprisingly good fig this year for me is Corleone. We still haven't had any rain, and daytime temperatures in the 70's have promoted a good fig crop this season. I bought organza bags to protect my hardy chicago figs that usually get swarmed by the birds, but this year, I've had good crops on my hardy chicago trees and very little damage from birds. The I-258's have produced well this season and started ripening in August, but I'm not convinced about planting them in the ground. Here's one for you, Ben. One of my in ground trees resembles a Stella in leaf form and stems, but the fruit is a light bronze but shaped like a stella fig. The taste is like a sweet peach and a tangy apricot combined. I've had others taste it also and had similiar comments.......one even described it as "peach and brown sugar". Would you have any idea of what it could be?

Socorro black was my fav from our fig tasting over the weekend so had to come and see what you said about it. We only had one to try though so had to split it 10 ways. Perhaps it would have ranked higher in our overall ratings if people had a bigger piece to try.

Nice variety but so small. I don’t know the names but what I have are much bigger. The only problem they are not turning to a big tree because most of them die in early fall cold or late spring frost

HI Ben, great channel!! Any chance you would make a video about growing your figs? (What fertilizer/soil amendment you use, watering/volume how often , soil mixture, pruning or not..etc...) (Maybe a top 5 favorites figs to grow - taste vs amount of fruit the plant produces etc). Just staring on my fig collection a I'm in Tucson, AZ :-)

Ben, perhaps you could help me a bit since you have so many varieties in your garden. I bought a very expensive Atreano fig tree from a local seller now it's about 2 feet tall but the leaves are those I have never seen before. I have like about 40 types but this one is strange. The leaves look like a snow flake with seven skinny lobes and each lobe is quite densely toothed like an oak leaf. They look somewhat like Iranian Mountain Fig. Or anyone here has Atreano with that kind of leaves? My area is hot and humid above 30C?
