Had a $40 credit at dlt trading and ordered one yesterday for $151. Very cool looking g10 with the red liners and standoffs. The coating is cerakote which should hold up better than dlc, I believe.

Cerakote will hold up better with corrosion resistance but dlc is way better with wear resistant.

well i can hardly wait mine is ordered and should have it in a few weeks this knife looks amazing and fit my hand like a custom made glove that was made for me .That is what sold me on it.I thought it was a bigger knife from all the videos i seen of it but after seeing it in person its not all that big compared to what i pack every day any ways but loved the review video thanks!!!!

I bought the super freek based on how much I love the first freek. The original freek is so light and the fwack sound when you open it is amazing. The only thing that makes the super freek better for me is that I can put it back in my pocket with one hand. But using two hands to put my knife away is almost always a thing... loose pants pocket and tight pocket clip gets you the same outcome.

Great Review MC, I already ordered one. I did want to mention, I don't think Benchmade uses DLC coating. They have experimented with a couple different coatings so far, but they haven't really adopted one as their own yet. They do like to come up with proprietary items for their brand, but I'm sure they are using quality coatings nevertheless. Can't wait, thanks again.

Got mine for 10% off and it is an awesome knife. Wouldn't mind a satin blade option but it looks good like this. Centered, rock solid, even grind and sharp.

Can’t believe for the price they didn’t include a deep carry pocket clip. That’s something just about everyone wants yet some companies like spyderco don’t even use them on a lot of knives. That should be a standard part at this point.

I am currently waiting for my super Freek. Should be here tomorrow and I am stoked as I have never had an expensive blade. I am very curious in the M4 steel and how it cuts and sharpens. I can shave with my RAT (D2) but it doesn't hold its razor edge long.

The m4 freek is the nicest benchmade since the 940, imo. There are other benchmades I really like…love my adamas and griptilian…love the aesthetics of my crooked river. But the freek is better. It’s one of the few benchmades with actual, high performance blade geometry, m4 is phenomenal, it’s got Spyderco caliber ergonomics. Just a great knife altogether. My only complaints are the blade coating and the name. If it had a stonewash and a non-embarrassing name, it’d be right up there with the 940 for me.

Regarding the tiny torx screw critique. use a fresh and correctly toleranced torx bit driver and you won't have any problems. The hardware is top notch!

I recently purchased both the Griptilian 511BK and the mini version and had someone do custom Carbon Fiber Scales on the 511 and Orange G10 scales on the mini. I absolutely love them but the full size is my favorite. I may add this knife to my EDC collection. Sucks that this knife has gotten so expensive. I just looked at it today at Basspro and its $253. And that's even cheaper than u can find it online. It was my favorite knife of all they had. I just can't justify spending $253 on a knife. I could get the Hogue Sig K320 classic for just a tad under $200. And that's an amazing knife as well.

Look at the Doug Ritter Hogues. It's litteraly a MUCH better version of the freek at literally half the price with your choice of either 20cv or magnacut steel.

Just received mine today and I must have got a lemon. I was so excited to get this knife. The centering on mine is favoring the show side to the point where it’s almost touching the scale. Even disassembling and trying all the centering tips didn’t fixed it. Even if I tighten the pivot as tight as it will go doesn’t even get close to center. I pretty sure the grind is way off and almost looks like the tip is bent slightly. The axis lock bar is getting jammed but sometimes it needs time to break in. I’m going to contact smkw tomorrow and see if I could get a replacement. Not sure how that passed inspection 🤷‍♂️. So far I’ve seen your video and Slicey dicey video and you both had centered blades I’m jealous

Brian Wallace I got a regular Freek with issues, the main one being the scales were misaligned. I sent it back. They still let some go out that shouldn’t pass muster. Pity.

Not a huge Benchmade fan-the mini bugout was a disappointment to be honest but the Super Freek might be the one. Never understood though why Benchmades have 50% liners or why so much FRN in some of their models.

I know this is old but i like Benchmade but I havnt had the best luck with them. The freak I had the lock was getting stuck and centering was not great. I ended up selling it. I still have a custome shop grip that's decent. personally from my experience Benchmades quality control is hit or miss. I've had multiple versions of the pm2 and they have always been flawless. Of the 2 the pm2 is bay far superior.

@@wrjames38 it depends on if you like the carbon fiber a bit better. Honestly it would be a flip of the coin if I had to choose. I hard use both and neither has disappointed me. The freek is a bit bigger making the stryker a tiny bit more pocket friendly if that matters. Either way you go, you're going to be happy.

I’ve always been a gun guy. I have a bunch of cheap knives. I’ve just recently been doing research of quality knives. And this super freak definitely caught my eye. I’ve also noticed the grey/blue griptlian. I’m a huge fan of the colored back spacers. Are there any others out there that are colored?

Definitely. So many its hard to name them all. You can also get custom scales layered almost any way you want, and lots of colored backspacers. Head to google and type "benchmade griptilian custom g10 scales/backspacer". Lots to look at 👍

With my Super Freek, the factory 25 degree edge was holding a very sharp edge and with very good edge retention. After 6-months of hard use, I had seen no sign of chipping or any edge deformation at all. I though, well M4 is tough, so I dropped the bevel to 20 degrees, and man what an improvement on an already fantastic steel. Slicing became easier as well as sharpening. Just a few strokes on a fine diamond will bring a dulled edge right back ro hair popping. And, still no signs of chipping or edge deformation. I do like CPM M4 very much

You kind of screwed Benchmade over on that video did you use two hands that's the whole point of the modern knives is being able to operate it with one hand buy you an old Buck 112 but you have to use both hands to operate it if I were them I would not send you another knife after the way you did that video

You can always pick a Benchhmade hater from a mile away, and they're usually a Spyderco fan boy. Despite you "recommending" this knife as a good purchase you are so much harsher on Benchmades than any other make, especially Spyderco which are significantly over rated.
