Benchmade 810 Contego (first impressions)

Here are my first impressions on the Benchmade 810BK Contego. This knife is a great example of when engineering and design come together. The Osborne pattern is something you will see on the 940, 950 Rift and this. This is a black class knife that deserves to be there. They do make a fixed blade version as well. The grip is unlike any other that Ive held. I picked this up at GP Knives for $208, no discounts from GP...but they have a huge inventory. Ill be doing a follow up on this someday after it gets some good use in. I would like to test the glass breaker also. Stay tuned and SUBSCRIBE if you would like to see more reviews! Hello fellow lefty! I also love Grand Prairie Knives. It's an hours drive for me. I check online availability and hit the road to inspect in person. They always let me be picky and get a near perfect model. My wife and I love to go up on some Saturday and come back with something fun. Last trip I got a s110v para and she (lucky) got an custom graphic small 21.

Oh ya, I used some 1000 grit to barely knock down the milling edges on the g10 scales of the 810. It was too intense for me if used for long. I later ground a bit off the liners where they are rough. It now is just the way I like. Don't assume that changes haven't been made over the years and don't assume each knife is exactly the same. Happy cutting.

710 was a blue class knife.. Wish they didn't discontinue it!

Backspacer is steel, not aluminum. Other than that great video, love my contego as well.

Thank you for the correction! Steel liners and back spacer. I know alot of people have broke their back spacer bt dropping the knife or using it. Has yours held up?

@@OzarkPursuit7883 Mine has held up fine, but I've only used it to crack open a few walnuts. I'm going to be customizing my 810 soon and honestly I might get a custom spacer with no glass breaker. Just not something I feel is worth the weight.

Benchmade superfreek is AMAZING. gonna be real though. The moment I can find custom micarta scales for it, I’m swapping out the g10. A little too flashy and toy like. If anyone knows where to get some, please let me know. Great review
