Benchmade Anthem - Overview and Review

The pocket clip holes do not allow for switching between other BM clips. I put the MXG clip on my Anthem also. It’s a great knife! Sounds like the price is a hang up. Hard when they start kicking up! Mine is an EDC!

By far my favorite Benchmade in my collection. Love the action and even the sound of it. Still have the original clip...been thinking about swapping it out for a bit but, not a big deal I feel.

I've got quite a few knives but the Anthem is my favorite. So much so that I have two, lol. I bought them both used. A decent used price is around $330-350.

I bought one when vacationing in Florida with the family. I drug them all though the knife store! It is #420. The anthem is the only knife that kicks one of my CRK's out of the pocket for a few days. Price is fair for what you get, I also have eight 21's so I spend money on knives... Subscribed.

The anthem is my favorite user, not a diva to grime, action is super fast/easy, and when I accidentally mess the blade up I can send her in and get a new one put on.

Local store has one left for 350 new. Any chance this thing gets more valuable over time ? I assume some discontinued items do and some don’t. It’s their fist integral and the only axis so I assume it will gain in time. Thoughts ?

No that’s a great price though. This one wasn’t centered and it would bother me if I showed it to friends and told them it’s one of bm’s finest knives but not centered. Kinda hard to adjust a knife with one piece.

I'd say they have gone up now. I picked up a Slightly used one for $420 on Ebay and there were two others in like new shape going for $740 each

I think a company's reputation has a lot to do with what people will pay. When you buy a Benchmade, there's always questions regarding blade centering , quality control, etc. Other knife companies such as Hinderer and Chris Reeve have the reputation of having superior quality control and that shows up in the price. For many, "myself included", Benchmade has a long way to go before they can justify charging that much for a blue or black class knife. Even when I buy a Chris Reeve knife, I look at the grind, the blade centering, check the smoothness of the deployment, etc., the point is though, is that with Chris Reeve, I don't really have to. The quality and the exceptional reputation Chris Reeve and Hinderer have is something they've earned. Benchmade hasn't earned that reputation.

I have one of these that'll be in the mail very soon. I picked it up on the secondary market last night for $380 shipped with factory edge & what looks like perfect centering. No snail trails or anything, excellent condition. I guess my question for anyone reading this is, did I get it for a decent price? I feel like I did. I'll know for sure when I actually handle it, but i still wanted to ask. It's the most I've ever spent on a single knife (previous record about $320). Thanks for any info y'all have! 😃

Bought mine about 6 months ago and I gotta say I can justify why this costs $425 (Amazon) (asked that they look at it and it came perfect) when my 940-1 cost $272

From what I've heard in different videos the hole pattern of this knife is just slightly different than the regular benchmade pattern. Kind of annoying.

While the holes are slightly different, I've modified a couple of the deep carry Contego clips with a Dremel. Takes a few minutes to lengthen the two holes on the side. And it looks great.

I really like my benchmade knives but i just got the proper and the edge was horrible it the first 1/2 in was almost a s shape .I wish i took a pic but i was able to fix it .this was my 4th benchmade and i will still buy from them but it was bad

Benchmade pricing....you pay for the warranty and when the blade is nubb they replace it for $20. Ask spyderco to do that! It’s more pewter than bronze. It looked more bronze in the photo.

The holes are slightly more narrow than other BM models. Clip is 100% Anthem exclusive unfortunately
