I'm glad you did this video, I'm not out for any one company just the largest data pool we can gather. That's why I do the edge retention testing and flow up with the hrc and how that relates to the performance.

Thanks for making it so clear that it's not about a company Clint. So very much appreciated. I know there's flack from fanboys, but not all of us view things that way. ALL production companies screw things up quite frequently, another question I would have is, "do they let that happen knowingly". The simplicity of us users getting what we pay for is unprecedented. Thanks again, so very very much for putting yourself out there like you have been. Got your back Clint..💯%🤙🤙👊👊👊

I think the makers should test the steel of each blade and leave a certificate with the blade they could adjust prices to the quality of treatment or at least make the hrc easier to find and not have to search hard to find

Glad to see this type of stuff coming to light. The marketing is what I think got Benchmade caught and called upon in regards to the 3v. I think their answer was very excuse-ish. Don't say tactical and no one would've cared imo. Had they labeled it EDC people would've approached the knive differently. I think you guys are holding them accountable and it'll hopefully change the way companies market to us now that results from real testing are being documented! BRAVO TO YOU ALL!

The whole reason I bought this was for the reputation of 3V. Makes me wonder if I can trust the rest of my BMs. Although, this along with their political practices, it may be time to finally drop BM for good.
@Alumapro235 жыл бұрын
MJ In the HRC testing and use that we’ve done, the other steels fair well. The 20cv, like in the Anthem, don’t, but that’s pretty much across the board for all of the 20cv/204p/m390 Knives we’ve tested.

The burr built up on the bailout is like a foil. At first I thought I had one with a poor heat treatment. Clogs the stones when sharpening. Just a poor decision on bm part. I found it harder to sharpen then m4 because of the softness.

brian hilligoss Exactly, the explanation makes no sense. Hopefully, the consumers can affect change. 👊

All production companies have there issues. It’s how they stand behind them that truly matters. I know this is not about benchmade in particular. But they should respond with harder blades and swap the old blades for free. I’m dealing with spyderco warranty right now and it has been terrible. But they still have the opportunity to stand behind there product. That’s all I can really ask for. I don’t do KZbin videos, but if I get screwed by spyderco, spread the word for me 😂. People will NEED to know about this particular issue if they don’t respond accordingly.
@Alumapro235 жыл бұрын
Matthew Forrest I cannot disagree. If you look at the video I did on BM’s response, all I asked for was consideration of what the consumers are asking for. This is also why I’ve backed off of mass produced knives and I’m really focusing in on knives that are high end or even custom. This has really opened my eyes.
@mforrest15085 жыл бұрын
Alchemy_1 if spyderco does me wrong I’ll just stick with midtech. I like the lock and steel options spyderco gives but it’s just crazy. I have found that midtech knives generally have great heat treatments. Most if not all use peters. But most are S35vn 😥. Although hinderer and protec and millet have GREAT S35vn. Very hard. Elmax like performance. Chris reeve is still a little soft 🙄. But still love the company. I’ve had issues and they fix it. Period. The6 stand behind there stuff for sure.
@Alumapro235 жыл бұрын
Matthew Forrest That’s the message that I’ve been pushing as an individual. People need to stop looking at the price and not thinking about what you’re paying for as an entire package. $400 is a lot for a knife, but the continued support pays for itself.
@mforrest15085 жыл бұрын
Alchemy_1 you seem to really like the fire tac huh? I’ve never held one. Are you in the military or ex military? You style of knives kind of makes me think you might be.

I got the "super freak" recently and that m4 steel seams soft. I also have a 940 with s90v and it has not been holding a great edge. I have a 154cm pardue and that knife holds an edge better then them all. The cult of benchmade is absolutely terrible. People lose their mind when I bring it up. I really want to get the 940 and freak tested to have it on paper.

EDC Gear & Gun Reviews Yes sir. We’re all part of the same group. There have been a few super freaks tested in the group and they’ve all been 62-63. Makes the choice of low 3v HRC even more curious. The guy that does our HRC testing actually EDC’s a super freek.

@@Alumapro23 that's good to know. Maybe it is in my head haha. I do have a fixed blade in m4 and I can tell a significant difference. I am still blown away by that 3v though. Thanks for making us aware of all this!
