what if the re-bend exceeds 157.5 degree , which is verymuch possible in your test , do we again bend the rod to lesser degree ????? isnt this a hit and trial metod ????? y dont we do it with steel bending machine ?

In the re-bend test, the bar is bent at an angle of 135 degrees. Keep the TMT bar in boiling water at 100 degrees for 30 minutes, followed by cooling down the same. Once cooled, twist it again to 157.5 degrees and check for rupture or cracks. The TMT bar shall be deemed to have passed the test if there is no rupture or crack visible at the bend portion (tension zone) to a person with normal vision

Minimum length required for Displacement of rod reading + Greep of rod ,, near about 400 mm to 500 mm & mix 1 Mtr , Because more will go to vestige.. Re-bend Test :- First bend the bar to including angle of 135 degree. Keep it in boiling water at 100 degree for 30 minutes. Then cool it down for some time. After cooling bent it back to including angle of 157.5 degree The rebar should not show any rupture or cracks to a person with normal or corrected vision...
