agree completely. there is a lack of knowledge with regard to the LGBTQ community even from within the community. This occurs within Australia as well where many do not know the origin of our Mardigras and how it came from persecution and extreme violence from authority in a similar way to Stonewall. We should all know the history of our community because while we still have a ways to go those who came before us in all our forms fought hard to gain us the acceptance and equality we have today. We also have to remember and fight for those in places where they are still persecuted for their diversity.

Jt Martin Shea’s drag daughter but besides that it’s not about being able to name another queen who does that but the fact that thorgy and milk are saying that they are “taking drag to a new place” which it isn’t, drag queens playing instruments is and has been common for ages. RPDR doesn’t reflect the outside world of drag so your comment is invalid

Milk is trying so hard to be iconic, but you cant MAKE yourself an icon. its almost as if she is trying to reinvent the wheel, but at the end of the day its still a wheel and if anything she has lost her edge a little. I dont know if im the only one feeling like she was much more original her first go around, and now she seems watered down.

Wade Howie for me it was more like the last time she appeared on the show all she really wanted to do was expose the world to her style of drag and I feel like it really succeeded. But this time she's so worried about trying to make a mark that everything is getting Lost in Translation so to speak. I just really didn't feel that she was that unique or stood out from the crowd that much this time.

Lesley Stevens lol it was two separate thoughts in my head. The wheel metaphor is about her trying to be an icon, and the edge is about her performance and aesthetic in as3. She's not as inspiring as she was on her season or original. However, in her interviews, she's back to her wild out there style after the taping.

I agree with Ben here, see there is nothing wrong with trying to bring new stuff on dragrace to widen its horizons and introduce things to a wider audience... but see the wording I used? "Introduce things to a wider audience". The problem with Milk is whenever she makes a statement how innovative she is, she is simply mistaken, the club kids famously did it before her and there were people even before that, who did it too. You are great but only one of the many greats who have all been doing similar type of drag, and you should feel lucky and not be a self important asshole. The only difference is that people before her may not have had the platform that Milk did/does (Dragrace) that would bring these things to a greater audience. That is what Ben was trying to get to, she was trying to tell Milk that she should be more humble and greatful for the opportunity the she got and which so many other people who did similar drag then Milk didn't have, and see the whole herstory not only the present competition. While it is great that so many people will learn about non fishy drag, widening the boundaries of what the average person considers "Drag", it is not the end-all-be-all and one isn't better than the other. Queens are all different and every style of drag should be appreciated because they all just enrich each other, and they all can learn things from each other.

Look up Hinge and Bracket. They were a drag duo from the 70s-90s that did performances involving both comedy and music. Dr. Evadne Hinge (George Logan) played the piano, did some singing and played banjo a couple of times while Dame Hilda Bracket (Patrick Fyffe) sang and even played drums a few times. They did lots of operetta music from the likes of Gilbert and Sullivan, Noel Coward, and Ivor Novello.

She said these things she honestly thinks she sooooo unique.... Look I do drag im a newbie and n the atlanta scene u have your campy girls, your club kids and your pageant scene... My mother is white my dad is black and I can relate to almost every club the ones with the rich white kids and the ghetto black people and what I've witnessed is that no one works any less harder and isn't any less creative n both worlds... Some girls please the crowd some girls want to convey a message but neither is any less work then the other... That shit Kennedy does on stage will ALWAYS BE A TALENT

Sarah Maria la del Barrio was a famous Mexican telenovela from the 90's, whose main villain Soraya (played by Itati Cantoral) has made rounds in recent years in memes and other social media stuff.. I think the character was in Orange is the New Black, too. If you Google her, you'll probably recognize her haha ^_^

Honestly its so annoying to hear Milk of all people talk about being some innovator in drag when the vast majority of her professional success and work between seasons had nothing to do with drag, it was as a male presenting model. And when she does do drag its very club kid and yet she's seemingly ignoring all the work the club kids of days gone have done in that space and acting like she or Thorgy are the first? Girl.......

I know - I was one of the people calling for Milk to appear in a series of All Stars since I first heard All Stars was going to be a thing. Feel pretty damn stupid right now. I don't think he's racist or any other such thing some people are calling him, but I do think he's very disrespectful and limited in his scope of drag knowledge - and when you know that about yourself it's best to not to act like you can speak for people who are.

I appreciate Ben teaching Milk in a friendly endearing way, but trying to be ambitious and innovative doesn't mean you don't know about drag. I will say though, Thorgy was the worst person hands down and men in drag doing opera was a thing, so orchestral music is only a hop away. Although I doubt he meant actual orchestral music.

Even though Milk is delusional. I want to state the clear difference of the old European way of drag and the our modern version. Men weren't doing drag back in the day for expression. They were doing drag because it was illegal for women to do participate in the arts. So they needed to fill those roles. Drag now is for expression and entertainment, so if it were to go to orchestra which hasn't been done yet. That would make it a whole new experience.
