Thank you! I hope to make it a more normal thing. Once I get the how to stuff done on the machines I’ll focus more on project videos so the videos aren’t so repetitive on some subjects.

That sweet ringing you hear when you pull a finished part off the die is the sound of money. Thanks from Colorado, enjoyed it.

In simple terms its, Sheet Thickness x 8 = V Opening Dimension of Die For e.g. if your Sheet Thickness is 1.5mm, then its Optimal V Opening Dimension of Die should be 1.5 x 8 = 12mm.

Glad to hear you got your equipment back. Haven't worked in sheet metal in a long time. Use to make oil skimmers from SS sheet. Enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing. Here is wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Nice video. I would not place my fingers inside the part, when making the last two bents. If for some reason the program is wrong and the bend is deeper your fingers are trapped.. No fingers between the part and the punch is always best.

Is it profitable owning your own press brake? Or put differently, is there a decent demand for sheet metal parts throughout different industries?

is there a way to control how much preassure you put in each bend ? or is it determined by the machine when you buy it ?
@doksfrommars
@doksfrommars 6 ай бұрын
the pressure is determined by machine, the best workaround is to put on corrections on the bend angles. You basically tell the machine to bend 88 instead of 90. Then you measure whatever it actually did - and keep adjusting the "correction" you used until you find your sweet spot. Then you can save your settings for future use for that material/thickness. However in my experience - you need adjustments with every new batch of sheet metal.

Depends on Brake capabilities. If you use ‘tonnage’ mode, you program with pressure, not depth.

can you slow down the bending speed, if you had a much longer piece of material? and also slow down the return speed?
@adamdeuling5720
@adamdeuling5720 Жыл бұрын
Not on the main control panel settings but it may be something you can adjust in the hydraulics Or possibly deeper in the controller by contacting Tommy Industrial. I’ve yet to have any parts I needed it to go slower for personally.

@@adamdeuling5720 are you happy with the Tommy industrial. Are there options you wish you would have gotten instead. Have you had any problems with it? How’s their customer service
@adamdeuling5720
@adamdeuling5720 Жыл бұрын
@@t-bone1890 I’ve been very happy with it. It’s been repeatable and the only real issue I ever had they diagnosed for me on a machine in their warehouse, finding that I wasn’t letting my phase converter warm up enough before powering the brake up which was tripping the “vfd” inside the machine. They have treated me well and I definitely recommend it. It’s also the most affordable machine out there that actually has a real company behind it in the US where you can get parts etc as opposed to importing a machine and being on your own. I also like that they seem to make upgrades since I’ve bought mine and the new machines have some even better looking back guages and other features. I have a link above in the description you can fill out if you are interested in getting pricing.

Yes you can, Speed between 1-10 Depending what your bending. Normally I run on 10, but if its a thine material and long I prefer to drop the speed to 3. 3 let's me control the lift better 😊 Also you can drop the upper tool hight so there is a minimum gap between the V and Upper tools.

You would be better off with a gooseneck tool, starting with the 2.315 first and then .935. More correct results. 😬

As long as his angle is consistent down the entire flange the next bend will be consistent. You can also raise your backstops as close to the bend line of the part as possible and avoid most of the dimensional changes ,but, not all because there will always be variation (grain direction, thickness, even pressure of the part against backstops). But, we are talking .005 thousands and he has .030. What he’s doing is perfect without spending the thousands for specialty tooling.

You can get one -thousandth of an inch tolerance on air bending? Do you do a test bending first? If not, that's unbelievable!
