We built this small cabin, we all with my late father and now serves as gathering place where my sister, mother and our closest ones meet every Saturday to have nice picnic and time together.
I had an idea to make something similar for fev years now. Since i saw for the first time in some shop while on vacation. It was egg shaped, threaded on small stand hang on the chain. It was made from metal lines welded together.
I really like the concept and i was thinking how to make something in this direction but from wood since I'm woodworker.
Idea was good but putting it into reality was something else. I like challenges but this one didn't justify the end result
Fev years has passed and i almost forgot about the project until i was post on some FB page where the guy made something similar (similar C shaped frame) than the light bulb went on)
I'm happy to give credit but after searching for that picture or author for quite some time i couldn't find it. So of everyone one knows something about it, maybe my fellow County man let me know and I'll credit him.
Ok so I made a template and I use it for everything what you see.
This is done form larch wood which is ideal for outside use.
I use regular clamps and slow drying glue so i had enough time to clamp everything up.
The sit pieces are located on whole length of the frame because i thought in summer nights one can put a blanket over it and it will serve as a private, quiet place.
This wooden swing is very strong, Surprisingly strong and it can hold 2 adults (tested) and CRAZY comfortable to. Specially when pillows were added.
No need to add that everyone waned to lay on it and relax :)
Dont't miss the clever /hook,mounting thingy that i made, do you find it interesting ?
Thank you for stoping by, lewt me know if you like this latest video. Any feedback is welcomed.

Great idea and nice craftsmanship! If you reflect on the C shape on the terms on comfortability, would you change the shape to improve sitting or lying position in the chair. For example, more a 6 shape so the curvature is smaller on the sitting part of the chair. Or more half an egg shap to get a bigger sitting part? Or is this perfect?
@Slovenianwoodworker
@Slovenianwoodworker Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. I had thought of same thing when I was designing this. I decided to go forward and it was a good call. C frame has actually a bit longer bottom part and when you put fev pillows under you the sitting position is very comfortable. If you wish really relax you extend the legs so they are hanging over under your knees. It's like being on a comfortable sofa. I would stay with same design if i start over. I was aiming more to elegant simple design not much for total comfort even if it turned out that is quite comfortable.

Thank you for the answer. Maybe I will try to make something similar for in our garden one day. I will stick to the C shape and maybe I will make each "leg" from top to bottom a bit longer to make to bottom part more like a cocoon. No I am saying this, if you look at your thumbnail, it looks a bit like the skeleton of a scorpion (if it had a skeleton) or a pangolin 😊

Sure. Yeah many comments were regarding dinosaur bones.. That wasn't intentional. Use slow curing glue to have enough for clamping. Good luck

@@Slovenianwoodworker What glue should be used for this excellent design?
@Slovenianwoodworker

Any wood glue would do fine with D3 certificate. Maybe floor /parquet glue is better due to slow curing time. You need time to clamp everything properly.

@@Slovenianwoodworker ⚠️ God has said in the Quran: 🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) 🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 ) 🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 ) 🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 ) 🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness.
