@SpazChat yes we many of the new high efficiency top loaders have this same action but with much less water as it doesn't need so much to clean the wash, it does wash better with little wear on the garments washed
@BroccoliBeefed7 жыл бұрын
Please they don't "wash" better. They can't even rinse the clothes thoroughly. And....they take too freakin' long to do the job. That's not efficient. I'll bet more electricity is used.

The Kenmore/Whirlpool Line Came Out With Their Calypso Washers But They Didn't Last Too Long

Calypso stole this idea. Bendix was way ahead of its time and produced a better product of this design. And it was just as easy on the clothes!

There had to be some inherent flaw because these machines should still be in production I would think.

@@pawfan I think in the late 50s Philco merged with Bendix. I don't think this design was around long at all but the company continued to make front loading washers.

Apex, Bendix, and Kelvinator laid the groundwork for the recent generation of top load HE washers....Except, the first generation was WAAAAAYYYY Better!

Just the concepts passed down to the generation of HE washer designs.

What ground work? The predecessors were not high-efficiency. And I don't see any similar wash action.

Having been around someone who had a 50's Kelvinator, they used no more water than these "So-Called" HE washers.

Teddy Paw: I sure wonder if any of today's washers will ever be able to catch up and match the performance of this machine (s). Except for the Speed Queen TC5000 SERIES which have similar draining to this machine all the other top loaders have neutral draining. The Speed Queen TR3, TR5,and TR7 have like a neutral type drain.

@@BroccoliBeefed Ahh...but at the time Consumer Reports did their review on the Calypso they said it was the best cleaning washer they ever tested up to that point. I think the top load Maytag Neptune actually beat the Calypso out in their cleaning scores.

They know how to create a washer that will wash superbly, use an exceptable amount of water and electricity, all with a 20 year lifespan. The problem is they can't charge enough for them. The closest machines were the old Maytag and Whirlpools. But the was action was kinda rough sometimes. After factory's went out of business, now you don't have much need for all that. So now they have to sell you a machine that has a 3-5 year lifespan, which will not wasj all loads well, and the customer will dump that one in three years for the next joke of a washer. Our whole economy is based on come artistry.
