I kinda miss songs based on games. They were a big thing in the 2010s, but I think most people moved on to other stuff once it became less popular. It was mostly started cause of the online buzz of indie horror games, and how KZbin musicians like The Living Tombstone started making fan songs based on those. It soon led to others doing the same, with DAGames being one of the first and most prominent. DAGames was actually a let’s play channel focused on Will Ryan and his friends playing games with their own type of humour, but it was only when Will started doing music on said channel that it took off. As seen in this video, he is an INSANELY talented vocalist and has charisma to boot. It’s actually kinda sad that he was only known for songs based on, well…whatever was popular with the kids. He’s currently focusing on original music under the alias Iris, still releasing on the DAGames channel. If you want more of his stuff, that’s definitely where to go.

Great collab song, DAGames does great stuff and he invited Caleb Hyles who I listen to quite regularly as well. Both of them have antastic vocal range. Chi-Chi, the female vocalist, I don't know as well but still listen to them and they're all brilliant. It was a massive blessing to see them come together for this one.

I know I'm really late to the party here, and this has a very high chance of never being seen, but I'd like to answer some of your questions as both being a HUGE BATIM fan and a DAGames fan. Instruments of Cyanide is the third installment of the series of BATIM songs that Will (DAGames) wrote. There are 4 songs each representing one of the chapter(s) of the game. Although there are 5 chapters in total, Will refused to be pressured into making 5 songs and combined chapters 4 and 5 into one song (Meet Thy Maker) just to appease fans, and this song was also a product of pressure (As Will stated in his playthrough of Chapter 4: "I'm not making a Bendy Chapter 3 song!", only to release this masterpiece a month later). After the success of Build Our Machine and the release of chapter 2 where it was the first fan song (out of 4) to be featured in the games, Will wrote "Gospel of Dismay" and this got fans hyped into "a song for every chapter". As the game gets progressively darker, the songs reflect this. Build Our Machine was an upbeat "electro-swing" song, Gospel of Dismay was more 'gospel' and big band - like, Instruments of Cyanide was what I like to consider Rock (even though it says 'Heavy Metal' on Itunes), and Meet Thy Maker is full metal. Instruments of Cyanide, I noticed, seemed to actually reflect the tone of the chapter much more than what his other songs did. The start of the chapter seems to be all innocent as you walk around with Buddy Boris (The innocent lullaby-like piano), then the Angel begins to tease and lure you in (the starting vocals), then you see how she has massacred multiple Borises and Butcher Gang members (the ones hanging and walking in the background respectfully) and this is when the darker vocals start, then you have to run errands for her and this is where basically the war begins and the rest of the song plays out. Then at the end when she sings "as you ascend the heavens now, I'll drag you back down to hell" is a reference to when she betrays you at the end of the chapter (which you wouldn't get without watching or playing the game yourself) when she promises she'll let you go to the surface but then tries to kill you via elevator just so she could have Boris. Then at the very end when the "choir" sings "Dark nights are upon us!" is symbolic to the end where the player is half-conscience and sees Boris get dragged away by Alice and the lullaby of the piano (which is symbolic to Boris) is fading just as Boris fades away to the Darkness. Will Alex Ryan (DAGames) is actually from the UK (Which you probably caught on to his accent) and is the only "foreigner" in the song. He graduated from Brighton College, I do believe, with a degree in music hoping to make Rock and Metal music. He wasn't too successful with his original stuff at first but he gained massive popularity in his video game songs (Build Our Machine is still his top song with over 40 million views!). He, of course, dabbles in other types of music too, but Rock music is what he loves and it clearly shows in this song. He was once in a Band, but the band dispersed before DAGames (Diamond Armada Games) was born on NewGrounds where he even animated his own music videos. Will has, pretty much, soloed all of his work. He has a little help from his friend Chris (who was a former member of the band), but all the music, vocals, instruments, arranging, lyrics are all done by Will. The "choir" that you hear is actually just a bunch of Wills! (with maybe some Caleb sprinkled in there). Will is actually very talented with his vocals as he can not only scream like Chester Bennington, but he can also do multiple voices while singing (as clear in the choir sounding like a bunch of men, and Will taking the roles of Bendy, Boris, and Sammy in Gospel of Dismay giving each of them their own unique voice to the vocals, which he also did live). Boris is also Will's favorite character of the whole game and I do believe that the reason this song went harder than it had any right to be was because of Will's love for Boris. Caleb Hyles is a cover musician, but a good friend of Will's and he too loves rock music with his ever-so-popular Disney Rock Covers. He does show up in the middle of the song as "The Projectionist" (Camera Head Guy) for a little solo, and makes subtle reappearances in the third and "fourth" verse, I guess you could call it. I understand not completely catching the vocalist switch as it took me years to final tell who was who XD. Chi-Chi is also a good friend of Will's and is the only female artist in this song and in the precursor song Gospel of Dismay. Chi-Chi also has her own BATIM song "Alice's Tango (You'll Be Mine)" which is based on the actual character of Twisted Alice, whom she plays in this song. The lyrics are all meant to be metaphorical in their own way, yet still reference the game itself. I can kind of understand the confusion when you're trying to look at it as "how does this connect to the game?" without knowing wtf the game is about. And, as a BATIM fan, there's actually not a whole lot about the game in the song (Excluding the obvious "as you ascend the heavens now, I'll drag you back down to hell | Can't you see you're friend is now mine" bit). But, if you look past the game aspect of it, you can see that this song can actually stand on it's own, and I believe that is part of it's beauty and charm and why, despite not knowing jack about the game, anyone can enjoy it for what it is. I hope that my rambling cleared up some things. And I know I didn't go too much into detail about the game itself, but that's because I'd be here all day if I did. This game and Will's music have been such a HUGE saviors in my life and I'm glad to see someone appreciate the song not just because it's Bendy, but for the song itself. I look forward to more Bendy song reactions in the future!

Neat seeing Bendy here. Didn't expect it at all but glad it's here especially as someone who's a bit tied to it as a mod for people who make music for this game & fan music also the owner of it's official community Discord. (Fun story behind that) But yeah Bendy is a horror game based on like 1920s 1930s Cartoons where you explore an abandon studio where things are not what they seem. It's a bit rushed at points but it's a good fun game. DAGames (he was collabing with two others for this song) isn't a band but he's a musician who makes fan songs/original songs for games. I believe this is a fan song that was used in one of the chapters in a different way then it was presented here so you don't hear it like this at all in game but it is in the game. Don't remember if this was one of the songs used in game though it's been a while xD.
@EvisceratorMK22 жыл бұрын
Oh to add to this each chapter (there's 5) has one hidden fan made song in the game in the style of a song from the era instead of what you listened to here as it'd be weird if some 1930s radio started blaring Metal obviously.

@@keytaurchannel216 This wasn't in game but a few others were. I know another song by DA was in a chapter. My friend Kyle's song was on the Radio in Chapter 1. The only radio to not have a song from a fan would be the Chapter 5 one which was done by the VA for Alice Angel.
