I never thought the anthropomorphic world was just her vision. Thanks

This is amazing and horrifying. As an artist, horror and monstrosity go hand in hand. You can make a bloody mess and not catch a felony.

The art style feels like a mix of Richard Scarry and some of those Little Golden Books I used to read. I’m a sucker for the “Cutesy Horror” vibe, so this is right up my alley. 😊❤

That comic was really good ! Sam wasn't the only one "Big predator" tho : their was a tiger as well (with his daughter) and what I believe was a Wolf (in that rabbit coffee shop). But they were shown really briefly so it really doesn't undermine your point with Sam being the apex predator among what could mostly be preys for a Bear like her. It makes me wonder if the story would have been as good if they were all depicted as humans ? (Without Sam's viewpoint) Great video by the way !!

If I remember correctly, the tiger and wolf were only in the city. So at least in Woodbrook Sam is is the only apex predator. I think the animal angle gives the series a distinct look and a bit of mystery.

@@hailkingrex I went back to the comic and yeah the tiger was in issues 3 and 6 and the wolf was in the rabbit's coffee (not far from Sam's shop, where the annoying pig started an argument) both in Woodbrook and I have no Idea why those two were apex predators as well since they had no significance to the story at all ? And yeah I totally agree with you about the mystery and the distinct look 👌

Probably not, the use of anthromorphic animals is a common technique in stories like this to take the edge off to a degree and make the events slightly less viseral while also enforcing that thematic idea you mentioned. Maus did the same thing through the use of cats and mice.

The book is basically an episode of Dexter. It was a pretty good story but the writer failed to show why the main character is a psychopath. I also found the ending to be a little too easily wrapped up.There is no hero in this story only villains which is disappointing.

What would Sam do if she were to meet a cannibal? A true predator who kills for hunger and eat thereof, but never kill for killing's sake. The law of the jungle. A law she's breaking.
