Everybody talking about Duda's tecnique but lets talk about his phisical performance. I think his legs made possible an outstanding performance like that. Playing loop after loop against a top chopper like Gionis requires very strong legs and today his body was absolutely on point.

Duda's backhand openers are very consistent, spinny and immediately put pressure on Gionis.

Analysis: Duda great footwork (especially for such a tall guy), great reaction, great switch from attack to just pushing over. Maybe needed some more side changes but that’s always hard. I feel as a lefty almost disadvantage since naturally playing on long pip backhand. Overall very good performance against one of the best attackers. Sad for the Greek. Great game. Loved the hug at the end. ❤

Duda has great technique on both forehand and backhand. Gionis is mostly playing great but chokes in the last set. Many attackers know how to exhaust him with heavy attacks interrupted by stop-pushes. That takes its toll when the matches are going to a fifth or seventh set.
