Im loving being on a low carb diet. It has made it so easy to loose weight along with intermittant fasting, and I rarely get hungry anymore (except after eating carbs!).

Such a good interview with two men and scientists who really know their topic and who are speaking with clarity, insight, and passion. Now, if only the medical industry would listen to them. From a proud Saffa; go Boet! Our own Prof. Noakes

That was awesome, Your world is turning my world upside down. I am 64, Hashimotos disease 8 years after getting sober at 39,and becoming a fitness enthusiast, and starting eating plenty of whole grains because of conventional norms for athletes and human longevity. At 63, diagnosed with thrombocytopenia, two autoimmune diseases. I do not hope this change will work, I am fully in belief. I also take a Redox Biochemistry product, cell signaling. Last year, I stopped it because I was scared, and it gave me second thoughts on using it. Even though it is native to every living organism with cells. I always wondered why I could not lose the extra 20 lbs. With my physically demanding job and fitness, I burn about 4 to 5 thousand calories a day. I enjoyed the segment of the doctor talking about the brain and memory. I believe I fall into that category, I have always been told I have a great memory. I often think that my side hustle, in which I am shunned by many at my warehouse occupation, and wonder why I am involved in this, what is different about me than my peers. I quote from the book as a man thinkith, " The Dreamers are the saviors of the world." Mankind moves ahead because of men like you two chaps.

Thanks for such a stimulating discussion. Re photographic memory: Arthur Rubinstein was one of the foremost concert pianists of the last century: he had a photographic memory: he said that when he was playing, he saw the pages of the score in his mind. And he was a musician of supreme creativity!

Thanks for the remarks about photographic memory! When I was getting my degree in engineering I occasionally tried to discuss concepts philosophically, and was accused of being stupid. I just couldn't advance in my studies sometimes until I was sure. These guys just believed it and of course had much less problems with their studies. Finished up as a self-employed landscape gardener which of course led to more frustrations but I could, occasionally, get rid of certain customers.

That is the book I can't wait for, A Diet of Lies! The Word needs that desperately and I think we actually need it like yesterday. Between Ancil Keys, the seven day adventists and big food, and pharma, I haven't yet decided who has done the most damage to the world's health.

Hi carbs are fine if there from small potatoes, nuts and seeds, broccoli, berries etc. Fruits and veggies some healthy fish and 2x or so times a week grass fed beef. Processed food and fast food coupled with excessive eating and no exercise is what is killing people fat.

Most Dietitians need to keep their options to them selvs as they know very little about nutrition except what the prossessed food companies and pharma want them to push as most nutrition education is funded by them.

I’m currently down to 30g net carbs and 30g fibre. I rinse and soak and re-rinse more than I used to. Grow my own, ferment, sprout. Much easier on a low carb diet. No room for chickens and goats unfortunately. lol Might take up more hunting and fishing but meanwhile shop very local, small farms. I keep corporations out of my life as much as I can. Those fuckers will kill ya. ;-)
