I’ve been celibate for 6+ years. After 17 years of marriage ending in divorce. And a few sexual partners I found myself unhappy and unfulfilled. I’m totally celibate, no masturbation, nothing. I may remain celibate. I don’t know. Once you master sexual urges you are free. You’re not led by your penis. Men do crazy things led by their penises.

I opted for celibacy because it just felt right. it had also donned on me that I was 'doing it' as a duty. My soul was empty, my body rigid, and my spirit blank. I thought, why am I even in this relationship to start with?! Am at peace now.

I experienced celibacy naturally,it s 3.5 years now. I always hate hook up culture and i had sex only when i love someone and have a nice relationship with him. So there is no love relationship in my life for 3.5 years and i feel much much better.. Everything is clear, shiny and i feel great.. Everybody is like “oo it s our need like food and water” that s a huge lie, especially for women.. it s not a need,it s only a desire..

I've felt this way as a man. Of course I will never understand what you're going through. I can say for me, I found that it's less of me not wanting to have sex and more so of not wanting to have sex with the wrong person or have a multitude of encounters. That is true bondage. I am waiting for marriage as well.

@@diegoebustamante prior to my Cushings Disease, I was very active from ages 16-25. I stopped at 28. I’m now 35 still celibate. I imagine if I met a wonderful partner I would then want sex. It’s moreso in my case that my libido is gone. The desire part of it, totally absent. Which isn’t my norm, but is seen w this disease. Due to pituitary tumor in the brain. Sucks :( but life sure is peaceful and calm. 💜💜

I don’t want to be celibate. I desire that romantic companionship I once had. But like he said near the end, this world needs people who think about the community first. Lotta people here saying, “I love being celibate!” Some days, maybe. But why are you celibate? Are you lying to yourself? Is it for your own gain? The gain of others? I don’t mean to impersonate some sorta philosopher. I’m just sharing my feelings here because I’m not sure where else to express them. But based on everything about my life and who I am, I think God has guided me towards a life of celibacy. And I think I’m ready to take it.

Does anyone know of any negative consequences of being celibate? I've been celibate since July 2016, & I've been wondering if there are possible negative side effects if sexuality isn't expressed, but I can't tell if it needs to be expressed, lol....w tantric energy and manifestation I understand certain things...Maybe meditating will help bring the answer. But I'm not exactly sure what to think. I don't expect many people to see this, but still. Lol. I'm curious.

I’ve done celibacy once before and when I decided to engage in sex again it was difficult. For instance, I struggled getting turned on and even tho i decided to end my journey, each sexual encounter was met with grief and guilt. I’m unsure as to why but can only think the pressure I put on myself to be perfectly pure was a hard character to crack. I believe I have more work to do eternally than just celibacy on its own. That’s the main downfall that I came across
