Some great discussion there Gareth, I think you've hit the nail right on the head! We love caravanning as I think is evident in our videos. Another major reason is as you say, it gives you an excuse to get outdoors and spend time together. To explore our home lands and do things we most definitely wouldn't do if we were at home. I worry so much about the 'Tech effect' on how our kids socialise and interact with each other, we are always keen to get back to encourage interaction and have fun without an electronic device. Looking forward to future vids. Andy

Thanks for the comment Andy, and for Allowing us to refer to your videos too. Yea when planning for the vlog, I think the issues went hand in hand with the benefits and really fancied getting under the skin of them a little. Like you we love Caravanning and think there are so many benefits too it. But all the google returns, aside from one of your videos and a couple of articles, discuss the specs and buying advice for tourers; rather than why buy one in the first place. Thanks for the comment and just hope the video helps some people if they are interested in Caravanning. Gareth

Andy this is one thing that annoys me about reviews by people about caravans and how lacking they are in usb ports

What a really good topic. I am very glad you have brought this up. We have had our van now 3 months and have been away quite a lot in it. We love it and we love meeting new people. Just had an awesome weekends away in the Lakes and met up with friends from twitter and had a great laugh. Thanks for putting this out as I feel you have summed it all up really. Phil👍😀

Ah thanks for the comment, definitely, the stats tell a tale that the market is and has been booming for a long time. Think Brexit will only add to that in the next few years.

100%the interaction between people of all ages is brilliant,dont know why some people are against children or even dogs on sites.we only got our van just over a year ago although i had went with parents years ago.we bought an air awning went on a site and a man of elder years thought it was great and would suit him.he had been vanning for years but was past putting up his awning because of the work involved

We love the interaction between people of all ages too - and everyone’s always so friendly! Can definitely see the benefit of an air awning 👍

I did enjoy this, why worry about Brexit, most of our away time is in the U.K. the caravan or motor home gives you that opportunity to just hitch up and tow even for the weekend, or key in the ignition and away you go. So many great place to visit on our own shores. The main thread is food for thought👍

Thanks for the comment guys, yea I think if you’ve got a caravan or motorhome, I think your in a good position of having yourself all set up regardless of what happens with Brexit. Think it’s going to make a lot of people think about joining the party and buying their own home from home.

I loved this video... I have toured this great nation with my family since 1985 and I have enjoyed every second.. The reason why I'm commenting is your title "the benefits of buying a touring caravan" The truth be known is Package holidays are great fun but when you deal with airports & security & flight delays, this can prove stressfull especially to the children. One of the best reasons I can relate to is the point of family activities together as a family unit. This is extremely important for children to experience & be a part of. I would take my family on holidays all over the uk and my children would put down their mobile phones and meet up with other kids on the site and play "its a Knockout". My children had friends all over the country and they would keep in touch with each other. My children had way way more friends on camp sites than at school.. This was great because they were learning to make new friends. In the longer term of things I believe my children had enriched their quality of life with all these different adventures. My children are now adults 0f 30yrs + and have blessed us with grandchildren and were still caravanning together. Its a lifetime of family fun.. That's the benefits of owning a caravan to me.. What do you think.!!!

david Kerr thanks for the comment David, I read this out word for word to Jodi and couldn’t agree more with your views. We have recently discovered we’re going to be parents and I want our kids to have an adventure filled childhood with the quality time that goes hand in hand with Caravanning and being outdoors. We love it and can’t wait to go away again.

Really good topic and you have covered the basics I suppose everyone has different reasons , when we bought ours it was for the purpose of using in Europe , I’m really hoping nothing will change but this will depend on agreements and people’s attitudes towards Europe , one of the facts you pointed out is the industry is selling more caravans and motorhomes , if it more difficult to escape the uk surely more congestion is inevitable Would it make me give up mine not a chance ! So many interesting places to see here in the uk good film G&Z

Gavin Streetie Hi Gavin, thanks for the comment, I think it’s hard to tell, one of the growth markets has to be campsites and facilities to cater for more people camping and caravanning. One of the comments earlier in the stream pointed out that the UK has some way to go to catch the continent in terms of facilities, which we have to agree with. Whatever happens after Brexit, sense will prevail I’m sure and even short term price hikes won’t last long as everyone benefits from tourism. And if there are high prices to travel overseas, like you say there’s so much to see and do in the UK.
@lronhubbard80316 жыл бұрын
great video what will brexit do to you on the caravan side of it.
@Caravannery6 жыл бұрын
L ron Hubbard I think my concern is the impact on ferry prices potentially, but I do hope it doesn’t impact on travel at all. Very often these things are blown up with no outcome. But if it helps people find a love for Caravanning that can’t be a bad thing.

Great discussion, I have a couple of contributions, 1. It is very clear that the growth in the caravanning MH and outdoor industry is booming, and staycations are the in thing which is great👍 but the infrastructure of the UK industry ie camp sites is not keeping pace, there are more and more people wanting a place to pitch and not enough pitches to go around, this is becoming a pain, short notice bookings are becoming harder to do ☹️ 2. I am sadly old enough to remember driving across Europe pre our EU membership, and all the European border posts being manned. I have to say it wasn’t a big deal to cross from France to Germany etc, so don’t worry about post brexit European holidays with your MH or caravan😀 Great video 👍

Thanks for the comment, that’s a great point, when we were planning on a holiday in the France, we were shocked at the volume of sites with top class facilities. Then when planning on a trip for Jodi’s birthday in the UK the sites all seemed a little more basic, maybe it’s the weather, maybe our expectations are lower here. Seems we need to up our game.
