The old tried and tested 20ga 3" magnum with the correct choke and load will get the job done, and then it's up to you! 🇺🇸👍

It's just less payload that's all. 12 gauge simply gives you more shot. The increased recoil is just the result of the pressure required to push that larger load. Like dropping from a 7 to a 2 load.

Looks like you have a Privateer boat as your layout tender. These boats were built in eastern North Carolina and are known for being very heavy duty tough boats. Not sure about the layout but it looks like a Core Sound layout also built in eastern NC.

I wish they had discussed the laws around hunting in NYC.. I doubt you can walk on the train with a gun case on your back. Maybe the guide provides the guns? I also suspect those 20 guage loads are $100 a box.
