Absolutely. They are a lot of bike for not a lot of money. That sounds like an awesome retirement plan. I’m slightly jealous. Ride safe.

That’s good to hear. I don’t think others around the world understand how good and how much of a bargain these bikes are.

A great cheap alternative to the expensive adventure bikes. A really good price and looks as big as the £20,000 + bikes.

Absolutely. Great value at just over £6000 i hope I get a go on the new 702 I think that might be a real game changer. Similar looks to this one but extra power. I saw it at the bike show at the NEC. It looks really nice. Exciting times. Benelli are bringing out some brilliant bikes.
I own this bike for about half a year now, bought it randomly because I got a good deal, almost brand new with accessories for under 5k USD from a bloke who got it as a first bike but got intimated from its size after dropping it stand still on a red light few times. It is very comfortable at lower speeds, I can ride for hours without getting off when riding on slow roads, and it does well at bad condition roads, but it definitely lacks power for its size and it is heavy when at halt, I am well build 180cm and you have to be careful when you stop on uneven terrain. With a pillion the lack of power is very noticeable, the bike becomes pretty vibey and loud, so the pillion I rode with said it was rather unpleasant above 100 km/h. The ride is tiring when you have to crunch highway miles, just too loud and vibey if you want to keep up with traffic + fuel consumption suffers a lot (Even with a fitted 15t front sprocket). The speedometer is also very off, and becomes more inaccurate with higher speeds - It shows 120km/h when you are actually doing below 110 km/h. I had a faulty MAP sensor at 8k km + a few electronic anomalies. Also, I found it hard to sell, as now I am looking for something older but around 80-90hp as I am doing a lot of highway miles to get to the good riding spots.

Thanks for sharing that. It is a very large bike with a not so large engine. It gives the appearance that it can stand next to all of the big bikes like the GS and Africa twin but it’s a 1/4 of the price you get a 1/4 of the power. Have you sold it now? Or still trying?

@@GillyBikes Yes, it is a bit of a form-over-function case. In my country, Benelli is not very known and riders here laugh when they notice the thicc body combined with the small engine haha. I tried to trade the trk502x to a second-hand dealership for an old 2002 r gs in an ok condition, but they don't want to touch it with a pole. I might eventually try to sell it in Greece, as there the tkr502x is more popular and they have more dealerships (only 1 in my country) I believe when the 702x becomes widely available it will be even harder to sell, as this bike is intimidating for most of begginer A2 license holders due to its size and experienced riders wont considered it. The Himalayan makes much more sense than this bike in the EU market. With the Himalayan at least you can do the TET offroad trails and long comfortable top cruising speed is just 15 km/h less, only downside would be overtaking power compared to the trk502x. Would never consider making my life miserable with this fat lady on the trails tho haha

@@keepitreal1547 Before the TRK502X, I actually owned a Himalayan BS4. For my needs, it was too underpowered for long-distance riding on roads with faster traffic, but it was more fun and adequate for city riding. Easy to moderate off-roading was manageable and fun, the bike really gives you confidence. It seemed to have better build quality, and I had no technical issues with the Himalayan, whereas I had issues with the TRK502X, which definitely had a cheaper overall feel. I also modded the Himalayan a bit - booster plug, performance filter and box, performance camshaft, and a larger front sprocket. The advantages of the TRK were that it had enough power to overtake, and it was more comfortable for longer trips. On the Himalayan, I felt fatigue more quickly. I sold the TRK502X, and now I own a 2012 R1200GS Adventure that suits my needs perfectly as an intermediate to advanced rider, and I plan to keep it for a long time. The drawbacks are higher fuel consumption and maintenance costs, and it's not exactly a bike for heavy city traffic. If I had the space and more budget for my hobbies, I would have kept the Himalayan as a second bike - I actually miss it sometimes.

Enjoyed your summary.....have been looking at the BMW G310GS as well as the TRK502 and X version....my concern is seat height, being short ass and engine size....I'm leaning more towards the Bennelli simply because of the extra cc's.
@GillyBikes Жыл бұрын
The 310gs is ok but seriously lacks power. Out of the 2 the Benelli would be my choice. But it is tall and quite heavy. If you’re road riding only then the Benelli wins but if your going off road it would have to be the BMW. It feels noticeably lighter.

Great bike for the money. I follow a owners page and there really quite reliable . Parts can be alittle sketchy. Only downside poor resale value and that power to weight ratio 🤔.
@GillyBikes2 жыл бұрын
I think the 702 addresses the power to weight issue. That bike looks nice.

Yes. It’s still a tall bike but I didn’t think it was to tall. You should have a sit on both. I will say though the NC700 is really comfortable. I like both so you have a tough choice to make. Keep me posted 👍
