I love this guy Captain Steven. His name and national origin remind me of a really lovely older musician, "Seasick Steve". But seriously he has a great way about him, great knowledge, feel like I'm listening to a senior family member I respect & trust.

I have owned the ST34 since 2014 and love it. But $689 for the new 35 in 2020 is crazy

Growing up my dad had a 34 foot marine trader, or grand banks I can't remember which. We sold it cause it was so slow. We always were the last to arrive at a club meet up. He would have loved this. Weird to see a trawler go so fast. Thanks for the video.

But also seems wierd that best economy cruise is on plane at 14 gph. No trawling 8 kt displacement go far throttle settings?

Yes, that is what I wanted to know. What is fuel consumption at TRAWLER speed? People in the market for trawlers will be spending a lot of time in displacement mode

Is there no emergency get home option? Such as a wing engine or generator PTO?

It's a 150 mile trawler, not a 4000 mile cruiser.

@@darthkek1953 Wrong, At trawler speeds the Swift Trawler 35 has a 700 to 2000 mile range.

That's what i thought. One engine in the middle is basicly the best (balance, costs, physics of waterflow). BUT what if you got an engine failure out at the sea? no matter if you are close to the shore or not! would be a very bad situation, especially in windy conditions. We have an twin Cummins boat since '91 and we had several issues in that time and you feel more safe with a second engine. So what we can do on that Swift Trawler to have this "emergency get home option"?
@georgemartin49633 жыл бұрын
@Just think Irrelevent. Any distance away from shore without power is at the least inconvenient and expensive. At the most it could be catastrophic. If you think otherwise then you're the one that's nuts. Perhaps you need to "just think".
