UMass rejected the offer in order to keep the basketball teams in the Atlantic 10 conference, which was much better at the time. It backfired massively for football as they couldn’t find a new conference to move to until this year when the MAC accepted them back in, this time as a full member. TLDR: they prioritized basketball over football and it didn’t work out

I know you can probably reorganize the conferences but I’m probably going to keep them how they are now for my first dynasty bc I want to play the real life schedules and play in a bigger stadium than what most group of 5 schools offer. Bengal, really recommend you to check out the UTEP Miners, an 18-49 record in the last 6 years with HC Dana Dimel, now replaced by Scotty Walden, a promising young coach who just got UTEP the #1 recruiting class in C-USA, and UTEP's highest ranked recruits in history, and of course, the sun bowl which is one of the most unique stadiums in college football.
