A gifted and imaginative Sarod artist, Rajrupa Chowdhury has successfully carried forward the legacy of the Senia Shahjahanpur Gharana. Her raag renditions are rich in emotive content while maintaining the traditional purity of the style.
Rajrupa Chowdhury’s recital of Raag Hameer on the Sarod enthralled audiences at the Bengal Classical Music Festival 2012, held in Dhaka. Ustad Akram Khan's able tabla accompaniment lent depth to the performance.

অসাধারণ বাজনা রাজরুপার। উস্তাদজীর তবলা যেন কথা বলছে। দূর্ধষ্য সাউন্ড রেকর্ডিং। খুব সুন্দর।

Rajrupa is a liability. She actually doesn’t play well. She’s very attractive though. She regularly loses synchronisation with the tabla player who is struggling to accommodate her ineptitude. Her taans are incoherent and chaotic, with no comprehensible presentation of ideas. It’s a pity because the gat is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
