The Baithak is a regular presentation by students of the Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay. The Sangeetalay, founded on a modern interpretation of the Guru-Shishwa parampara mode of learning, targets gifted Bangladeshi young pupils, who are competitively offered a place at the school, and are provided with a full scholarship and individual support. The ambition is that each pupil, under eminent guidance, will refine their skillset and achieve the ability to represent Bangladesh to an international audience and become world class musicians. The Parampara series of Khayal workshops initiated in 2002 by Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Ms. Shanti Sharma, helped form an effective basis for the school. The Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay started its classes under the auspicious guidance of gurus Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar (Khayal), Pt. Suresh Talwalkar (Tabla), Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar (Sarod), Pt. Kushal Das (Sitar), Pt. Uday Bhawalkar (Dhrupad), and tutors Mr. Kaushik Mukherjee (Sarod), Mr Debasish Haldar (Esraj) and Mr. Kalyanjit Das (Sitar), in November 2014.
