ARINDAM CHAKRABARTI:
Arindam Chakrabarti is a full-time thinker. Prolific in writing, his work covers Western, Indian and Bengali knowledge-base and aesthetics. Currently teaching philosophy at the University of Hawaii, Prof. Chakrabarti received his MA from Presidency College, Kolkata, and PhD from Oxford University (working under Sir Peter Strawson and Sir Michael Dummett). After being trained as an analytic philosopher of language at Oxford, Prof. Chakrabarti spent several years receiving traditional training in Indian logic (Navya Nyaya). Prof. Chakrabarti has edited or authored nine books, in English, Sanskrit, and Bengali, including “Denying Existence,” “Knowing from Words” (with B.K. Matilal) “Universals, Concepts and Qualities” (with Peter Strawson), and has published more than eighty papers and reviews. He edited the recently published “The Bloomsbury Research Handbook of Indian Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Art.”
Arindam Chakrabarti started with describing the photo used in the promo poster of his lecture in which Parbati is coming home on a lion and poor Shiva walking along. Using humour and literary references, Chakrabarti continued explaining the etymology of Bengali words related to home and dwelling. He declared, there are 11 defining features of a home, the eleven conditions that turn a building or a shelter into someone’s home. The talk also shed lights on social problems and stigmas related to home and gender.

Quite interesting, thought provoking speech. Never thought the significance of home in this way. We studied philosophy together in Calcutta University and he was one of its kind. Unlike us he was the real philosopher. The depth of his knowledge is commendable. Wish him all the best in his journey to explore the meaning of life .

আমার সতীর্থের কথায় শুনতে এসেছিলাম। মাঝরাতের তীব্র ঘুম কাটিয়ে দিলেন আপনি। ভালো কিছু নিয়ে যাচ্ছি। সংগে থাকবে। শুনতে থাকব আপনাকে। সতীর্থকে সাথে নিয়ে, কলকাতায় সামনে থেকে শোনার অপেক্ষায় থাকব।

বস্তু, বাস্তব, আমিত্ব সবই ক্ষণস্থায়ী। আর যা কিছু ক্ষণস্থায়ী তার অস্তিত্ব কি কাল্পনিক নয়! অর্থাৎ প্রকৃতপক্ষে মালিকানা শব্দটিও চূড়ান্ত ক্ষণস্থায়ী ও আপেক্ষিক। কাজেই অনিবার্যভাবেই ঘর শব্দ বন্ধটিও কালের কাছে অসম্ভব ও অস্তিত্ব হীন। শ্রদ্ধেয় অনির্বাণ চক্রবর্তী মহাশয়ের সুললিত বক্তব্য আমরা আপ্লুত। কলকাতা 700131

Indian intellectuals fail to fight the influence of Semitic gods in place of Puranic gods like Mamta, humiliating RAM (Ramses II) and promoting Puranic gods like Durga as in the video. Rathher Durga we find worship of Ram, who massacred Yadava women and children fleeing the Kuru killers/murderers.

Ram is from Ramayan, kuru and yadava are from mahabharat. There is no connection between these characters. Atleast get your knowledge right before commenting

In the Kurukshetra war the Kuru manipulated Mahabharata and painted Krishna as Yadava killer, justifying Semitic Hinduism to replace Sanatan religion. They continue the Semitic tradition of ULU and replaced Krishna with Ram. Today few Indians realize there is no remnants of Ram Rajya, Ramayana was only a fabrication by Babylonians, who led the Kuru who destroyed the Yadava and broke the Indian spine from which they never recovered. Krishna will eventually win and Indians will ban the caste system and revert back to Sanatan.!!!@@guharup
