We went to Tawang in Feb-24 and took the same route while returning. Tawang-Tezpur-Kaziranga-Guwahati- Siliguri- Jamshedpur-Rourkela and back to Pune. Kind of refreshing. We also faced the same flyover issue in Siliguri. Roads in Bengal is bumpy and unnecessary barricades. Enjoyed your video. Thank You.

Few tips for travelling between Siliguri to Kolkata, it is better to start early (say 5 -6 am) and plan to enter the city by 7 pm, at max. As trucks are allowed to enter Kolkata only from 9 pm, a long line of trucks creates jam from 7.30 pm in the outskirts. One flank of Raiganj ROB is open with bidirectional traffic being allowed, so no diversions from now. Other flank is expected to get completed in 2-3 months. If you are entering Kolkata late take the Kalyani Expressway from Kalyani (a 10 km addition) but the road is mostly 4-6 lanes (90%) complete as of now. Most work will get completed in 6 months

West Bengal is a very densely populated state (2nd most densely populated state in India after Bihar). That's the reason you faced a lot of guard rails on the NH12. You could have avoided the congestion you faced on the single lane part of the NH12 after Jaguli if you'd have taken right from Jaguli towards Kalyani Expressway.

Now no one mention Karandighi bye pass where once I had to wait 4 hr, Raigunj and Berhampur bye pass is open. Big Mango called "Fagji" weighed 1-2 Kg single pc available in little quantity in June.Very nice road now and 12 hr in day time is reasonable. During night it will take 10 hr.

Ma'am Barricades are not for elections. It's a regular activity. Bengal is second Bangladesh. Lots of Muslim community. They have avg of 4 - 6 children. And the Govt of West Bengal is very much caring about the said community. I hope you know the reason. And not only this road, the other two like till Balasore and till Dhanbad, you will face the same scenario. And those trucks you are seeing is full of sand and stone chips. Now since the roads are good we would do a detour this time to Raebareli and would stay in Kolkata during winters. Would go around nearby places and plan to meet. This time it was too hot 43 degree hence we worked from Kolkata and left straight for Vizag. Couldn’t go places even in Kolkata due to the scorching heat.

Raigunj bye-pass has been opened to public some 6-7 days back. The railway over bridge has been completed now. :) The barricades are a pain to drive in WB. But this is being done as a regular practice. WB is the second most densely populated state of India, which is why a huge population stays by the side of the highways. The local people force the police to put the barricades else they do highway blocking. Have raised this multiple times to police and even talked to them and this is the only reply I got. But these barricades are there from 6 AM till 6 PM. By evening, if it happens earlier, the barricades are removed at 90% of the places or more. But they're removed definitely from everywhere by 7-8 PM.

Bengalies are very much foody and travel friendly community. Anywhere u go, u'll find bengalies are travelling. Yes, the roadtrip concept is not till now popular so much, we prefer bare legs. But I personally fond of roadtrip. Happy journey. Must visit nation's first underwater/river metrorail, that has opened recently from esplanade to howrah.
