Hi Ben, you should consider doing a double wall with ferrocement, and filling it with cellular concrete of low density. Specially for the dome. I'm trying to do something in that way, must be super isolated.

This house project was started long ago before I was born and we are coming back to it and finishing it. For the existing work we are committed to the style of Ferrocement that my dad was doing back in the late 70's. how do you waterproof your mix? and what is the mix you use

Hi Ben. I have a couple of questions... is this being built in the US? if yes, did you have to get a permit for it? I am interested in doing a ferrocement structure but I am not sure if my zoning laws would allow.

+alfredobrown the legal structure for this was set up before I was born by the person who subdivided the original farm land into the neighborhood that this project resides in. I have clue what it takes these days to get to build a unconventional house but the Earthship guys do it all the time. I bet if you googled some combination of earthship, building codes, legal and whatnot you could find out.

the best way to do this is to spray the ferrocement onto the wire....far less labor.... this house will be very EM safe....it'll survive an EM pulse burst
