It was really good to hear that Big Boy Beni lost the weight and graduated school. Now he's waiting for his chance to get a spot on a pre-release island. I was super happy to hear that but at the same time, super sad to hear I missed that on the show. I really hope a new season comes out soon.

He's already in pre-release island. He got into a fight with one of the dominant males. Due to that he got his upper lip cut. The medic team brought him back to the centre, treated him and return him to the island. Beni's a tough boy.

Truly heartbreaking. He doesn’t know why he is the only one cut off from the milk. That was kinda cruel. They should have kept him away from the milk portion in the morning and led him off aside with someone and give him the proper foods that he needs instead of teasing him.

These critters are not domesticated house pets. They will have to compete for food when returned to the wild. The bottom line is Beni is endangering his health by being so overweight. And clearly there is not enough staff to assign someone to lead Beni away during milk time so his feelings aren’t hurt. I’m assuming that folks who feel that way are not familiar with the 24/7 routine required to care for large groups of animals. I’m just so happy that Beni lost the weight and has been released back into the wild, thanks to the efforts of BOS

Couldn’t the babysitters give Beni another type of nutritious liquid? It seems mean to feed all the other babies and leave him out (although I know it’s for his own good). His little plaintive squeals are heartbreaking. The staff at this wonderful school is nothing short of amazing. ❤️

I remember the same exact video, but this is old, because that happened before the pandemic, were he is not happy because he can’t have milk and I believe he’s not allowed to bananas either, poor Beni 😞, but he’s overweight and he don’t understand why they’re mean to him, I hope he’s better by now 🥰♥️😍, I love watching the videos the baby orangutans are so sweet. I actually read a recent update on Beni. They said he lost his weight and is in the isolation cages, waiting for a spot on a pre-release island. That made me super happy but super sad we missed that moment. I'm dying for a new season.

They could've cut his milk consumption in half or even more. They could even prepare a watered down version and stick it in a bottle for him. But to deny him completely while the others are given milk while he's watching and begging is cruel in my opinion. There's nothing even remotely funny about it.They do great work, but they could do much better with the Beni diet situation.
