Tanxungueiras's music is typical from Galicia (in the North). It's normal that foreigns don't expect music like this haha, however we think it is time to send other styles that represent us to the world :). Maybe, you are all more introduced into Andalusian music (in the South), but in Spain we have so many different cultures and languages, and I think it's beautiful and we should send them to the whole world ♥. I'm from Andalusia, but I absolutely love North's traditions and folklore ♥

And, btw, if you are interested in other Spanish cultures...do you know that in Euskadi (in the North as well) they speak a language called vasco (or euskera) which is pre-roman? :) Actually, specialists still don't know where it comes from, because it has not relationship with anything else :D. @@2kesayota942 Euzkadi is in the Iberian peninsula, particularly in Spain, and in France. There are a lot of theories about Euskera wich is an aglutinative language with grammatic and construcctions most common in East Eurasia. Bulgarians claim it is a brach of their founding family, other say it comes from the georgian mountains... What is most interesting for me is that iberian peninsula has toponims in euskera all over the north, from euzkadi to west galicia.

The interesting thing about Terra is that It is in galician language and It has a traditional galician sound (northern Spain) that’s why It sounds celtic to you, because Galicia is actually a celtic region of Spain :) Pd: The song also have some sentences in the other languages spoken in Spain such as asturian, catalan, euskera and castillian🙌🏻

@@ShanesEurovisionReview Galicia in one of the Celtic Nations and shares many things with the other ones. For example Galician traditional music has bagpipes (the basic idea is the same as Scottish but evolved differently) and traditional dance is just like Irish but with one curious difference, the arms are raised. Probably gonna see that in Benidorm. Nobody in Galicia knows how to dance flamenco. Galician legends dating more than 2100 years say that they occupied a territory in some lands in the North and Irish legends say that they came from a territory far away. Historians try to confirm that in fact those are two pieces of the same puzzle but it's hard to be 100% sure after so many centuries.

Terra doesn't sound like a typical Spanish song because it's a electro-influenced folk song from Galicia region which is sung in Galician langauage which is a co-official language in Spain and is closer to Portuguese than Spanish but it's the main favourite for Spanish ESC Fans to go to ESC

Yesterday I was arguing with a girl who said that these lyrics take away dignity and look down on women just because it talk about menstruation and boobs. I think it is the opposite, it is a scream to the dignity of women in their natural essence. We have to stop hiding that our mothers bleed naturally every month and that the breast is a part of the body just like the ears. Yeah I obviously did not have any idea of the fan following of this song before listening/reacting/reviewing to these songs....I find it's best not to read any reviews/opinions before I listen so it does not cloud my judgement. Galicia is an unknown region from the North of Spain, they have their own language and influences from Celtic countries . Take into consideration that during the retreat of Muslim polititians from the iberian peninsula from IX to XV centuries, almost every piece of land was repopulated with Gallician blood. It was because it was the most populated region in Europe at that time (since before Roman conquest until industrial revolution). So every iberian of blood has gallician blood in one amount or another (with exception of Euzkadi people, who are in actuallity forefathers of 4/5 Galician males as per DNA testing, so family as well xD. We even have the same 'calling' called Aturuxo in galician and Irrintzi in euskera).

Doing all 14 in one video is hardcore, I ended up splitting them into two 🤣 Spain's Bonnie Tyler moment, surely you are not suggesting Azucar Moreno are going to turn up and perform whilst drunk 🤣 I picked up on the similarities between Gonzalo and Blas straight away, and I do like both, but it wouldn't be a good choice for Eurovision I am calling Culpa the 'Dracula' song, that's all I can think of with the organ parts 🤣 I got 80's vibes with Marta as well, also a strangely Christmassy vibe too I can't really remember all my thoughts on the second half of the songs. I've only edited the first half. So whilst I have listened to them 20 million times, I have only listened to the second half of songs once 🤣 But hearing bits of them here, the second half of 7 is stronger than the first 7, also don't worry about your pronunciations, it is far better than I managed 🤣 Really looking forward to Benidorm Fest, I am sure it's going to be lots of fun

It's believed that the first celtic people in Ireland came from Galicia, on the Northwest coast of Spain, the land of Santiago de Compostela, we have our own language and culture which has nothing to do with what you identify as "Spanish" just because it isn't Spanish, we don't even hace bullfighting and a lot of people in Spain are getting angry with Terra just because Galicia is being discovered and they don't like it. That would be the only reason why Tanxugueiras wouldn't be at Eurovision fest.

I'm 100% with TERRA, even though it is sung in Galician and there some kind of "forces" fighting against a song in any other language but Spanish. (here in the NOrth of Spain we do nothing with this stereotipical view of fiesta, flamenco, bullfights, mediterranean culture... as some people said before we are part of Celtics nations, them, the galicians and us, the asturians). I love this folk music mixed with electronic (well for mee too much electronic ;)) Rayden is my second... different but great. And my guilty pleasure is Varry Brava with this tribute to Raffaela CArrá (you might didn't hear about her but she was an Italian singer, passed few month ago, a really loved here in Spain).

Rayden, Tanxungueiras, and Rigoberta are the three that I think could do well at Eurovision. Personally, I really like SloMo and Mejores as well (Sucker for percussive anthemic sounds hi), but I wouldn't send them over the other three.

@@ShanesEurovisionReview Haha yeah I've been giving it a lot of thought because I like a LOT of Spain's entries this year. I wasn't sold on Ay Mama on first listen but when I went back to it, I can see how it would appeal to wider audiences. It's a bit different from the typical uptempo bops so that might help it stand out from the rest. And it's growing on me too. I was already singing it in the car the other day xD But I think Rayden has the best chance for an easy top 10 finish. Solid composition and production, decent vocals, quirky energy, punchy chorus. Claps. I think audiences will really like it. Terra will bring something different to the Eurovision mix this year which should help it stand out, tho it might end up being quite polarizing in that regard and will either do really well or flop. With the right staging, it could be really memorable, I think. And I do like it. It'll be interesting to see live.

I very much do think that ethnic/celtic sounds have to make a comeback. It’s not all about winning but throwing a spotlight on cultural heritage. In the pursuit of victory what we’ve ended up with at Eurovision is a homogenous blend of overproduced trash sung in broken English by every single country producing formulaic entries they think stand a chance of winning. I’d rather hear something like Tanxugeiras. It’s infinitely more interesting to me even if everyone else doesn’t get it and ends up proping up the table in the wrong end, who cares if they come last, I want to hear something different and unexpected. Besides if you win you have to organise the whole darned thing and it ain’t cheap baby.

@@ShanesEurovisionReview For what it is worth, it might be misinterpreted, but as you’ve probably realised from your viewers’ responses I believe it is quite important to send artists that are a true reflection of the country’s musical heritage. They can give it a quirky twist, it’s Eurovision after all, but I just think that following a formula ends up churning out quite a homogenous Swedish written and produced forgettable malaise. You’ve got to give it to France, they seem to have the right attitude. They are very loyal to their style and aren’t too preoccupied with a result. Sometimes they end up at the bottom others they do really well, (such as last year), but always faithful to their way of doing things. To them that’s more important than the competition. Being too focussed on doing well ends up with you second guessing what other’s want to hear and you more often than not end up with an entry that ends up mid table but has absolutely no meaning to anyone and to me that is pointless, however many points you end up with.

The feeling of "this is not going to do well in Eurovision" always gets it wrong, because nobody would have guess that rock would take back the crown after its golden era, same goes with Ukraine placing high last year. I think that it really depends on the year, in 2021 there were a lot of catchy pop songs, therefore the ones that standed out were the weird ones. But in other years, like in 2018 in which countries went for more ethnic songs like Oniro Mou (Greece) they did bad, and songs like Fuego or Toy, actually placed high.
