Spain is doing its own thing, but winning ESC is obviously not in their agenda, which is fine I guess. I know Spain has supergreat artists but they'r enot interested in goign to ESC it seems.

After that, I'm happy most for LaChispa, who put in a much improved vocal in the final even if that wasn't entirely reflected in her result. She can sing that song and it's such a good song.

I think the fundamental problem with the Spanish casual audience is that they don't think with ESC in mind, but rather in stuff that might be iconic in some capacity at a national level (Melody, Nebulossa, Blanca Paloma) but not abroad. I think the complaints about the results may come more from Spanish hardcore ESC fans, rather than from the general audience that is more used to not getting top results along the years. While hardcore fans might think "why do we keep sending bad choices?" the more casual might think "why do they keep not appreciating our stuff?". Spain has historically felt dosconnected from "Europe", (in football they even said, not that many years ago, that a player was leaving to play "in Europe" as if Spain was not part of it). I think this situation is another iteration of that disconnect, in which is really hard to find that balance between something that feels authentic but also appeals to an international audience.

I watched the whole of BF25… and loved the show. Melody is clearly an amazing artist… but that song is a little MF 2006. I am disappointed.

I am Spanish and I agree with you. Jkbello was my favourite. Melody is amazing but the song is dated.

La clave del problema de España es que no se seleccionan canciones competitivas y q los artistas consagrados con exito no se arriesgan a que RTVE les arruine su candidatura...Abraham Mateo iba a presentarse este Año,pero algo vio en la edicion del año pasado cuando se presento su hermano( Lerica) q no le gusto y ya no quiere presentarse ... Lo ha desechado para siempre .... 😅😢

Melody is a pro and can deliver, but the song is so forgettable. I've heard and watched it several times, and I still can't remember how it goes. (I would've gone with V.I.P.)
