I stared listening to Benjah when I was 12. I’ll be 24 next month. I think after a while I fell away from listening to his music as I got older getting busy with life. Here recently I started back listening again, following him on Facebook, and listening to him on Facebook lives. Sort of just hanging out with the guy lol maybe making a comment here and there or just letting my baby girl (who’s almost five months now) watch him with me. I love music, I love writing, and poetry was always a way for me to release how I was feeling during the different seasons in my life. I know singing and writing are my gifts from God, and I’ve struggled on how or where those things come to play in my life. The plan God has for me hasn’t fully come to me yet. I’m still searching and seeking God. I’ve battled with anxiety and depression growing up, but I was in an era where I felt like nobody talked about mental health. Or how to really look out for those things to take care of yourself and get help. Last year I got married and was at a point where I asked a doctor for something to help with the sickness I used to feel when anxiety arose in my life.. which was only situational. Little did I know the anxiety and depression I struggled with had everything to do with what I was doing in my life. I was always shy but as the sin in my life got greater so did the anxiety and depression. I fell away from God quite a bit.. but I’ve always came back cause I know I’m nothing without God. Being a mother has changed me in so many ways. I no longer feel depressed or have anxiety. Praise God! I feel that God is preparing me and moving me in my life to do the things that he has called me to do. Even though I don’t know what those things are yet, I fully understand that he has to be first. He has to be at the top for anything else to come into play. So that’s where I’m at. I’m just Waiting on God to show me where I belong, and how he’ll use me for his glory alone. God is definitely clearing out the bad in my life and showing me daily the things I need to work on. I feel at peace and I’m feeling more and more ready for the things to come that God has in store for me. I really relate to Benjah here in this interview. I’ve always been a fan and rekindling the spark with his music again has been good for me. I just relate in many ways to how he feels and how he speaks right here. Here I am just praying for my life and my daughter and my future. I got married to someone who isn’t who they say they are. We aren’t equally yoked and boy have I learned what that truly means and how it effects everything. I’m praying for favor in my life and for God’s will over all. The purpose I have has everything to do with my daughter (Rosalee) right now. Being a mother has truly changed me in so many ways, and it has brought back so much joy and peace into my life. God is good, and man I don’t think I’ll ever stop serving and living for God. Loved this interview ❤️ and felt like sharing. God bless y’all 🤗.

Amen. What we want in life for ourselves is not exactly what God wants for us, so if we put Him first and always acknowledge that all the blessings we have are from Him. Many people want success and money, but their greed of high status and pride will cause them to stumble and forget where God brought them out of. Stay humble and know it's God's way or the highway. God bless always!!

Hey Benjah, you have a fan from STL Missouri. Love your vibe. I’ve been following for awhile. Love your Reggae sound moreso than the Rap/Hip Hop but it sounds good together. I think you’ll have a great audience if you keep it fused. You’re unique, just keep it up and people will take notice. I love what you said about Brokeness is Beautiful because for a long time I’ve searched for my purpose and when it doesn’t ever seem to come together it can leave you feeling really lost and a few years ago God gave me the word that I was “Beautiful beyond my brokeness”. I almost got it tatted but decided not to. Glad to see you still on the scene. Haven’t heard anything for awhile, will have to checkout the new Album.

TL;DR Stop believing the lies of the enemy. 25:49 "the industry" is demonically controlled, don't worry or concern your business mind with what "the industry" wants or doesn't want. 12 Inches of Snow, a Canadian rapper, did rap with reggae back in the 90s! More currently, in 2018 regarding rap and reggae, you can hear the secular rapper Royce da 5'9 doing an interesting song that reminds me of the 90s in his song "Caterpillar" kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnK1coFnr5d-p7s don't believe the lies of the enemy that "the industry" doesn't want it, forget the industry, because the fact is behind your back they are putting out secular music, with what they don't let you put out.
