I did the sister event (100k) from the same starting point on Saturday. Strange old weather day, mild but also chilly in places and very blowy..!

Well done and many thanks for sharing. Fairly recent to your videos and would be interested in what equipment you use such as lights, tyres (tubeless/tubes), GPS, etc. for audax events finishing/riding in the dark.

Hi Ian, Good to have you along. I use Exposure lights both front and back, they are very expensive but very good and you can get them repaired if you do manage to break one (I have - twice!). I use Strada on the front and Blaze on the rear with a home made bracket to afix it to my seat stay. If I remember I will show this in a future video. I don't use tubeless mainly because of the cost of the tyres, I ran tubeless for a year and when I came to replace the worn out tyres the prices had gone up massively to the point it was cheaper to buy inner tubes. I use Garmin GPX units I have a 1040 solar and a 830, in the past i have used a Wahoo Elemnt and a Bolt plus further back I used a Garmin 800. None are perfect and they all have their own niggles, but both Wahoo devices were easier to navigate with whilst on the move if you need specs to read like me. In general spend money on lights, wheels and navigation the rest isn't so important and I include the bike itself in that comment. All the best.

You seem to be riding all of the Audax events that I can’t get to because of work….!!! At least this way I get a glimpse of what they are like. Thanks for sharing.👍👍👍

Thanks for the video. After 20 years of racing I started riding again last year after a 12 year layoff and after watching your videos I think I wouldn’t mind having a go at audax. Are there any restrictions on the equipment that you use because years ago I turned up at a local 200km audax and they wouldn’t let me start because I was on a racing bike.
