Hello everyone, today we’re in the lovely city of Perth, a city in central Scotland that sits by the side of the River Tay, and is a city that has been a focal point of Scottish history since the medieval period, including being the capital of Scotland until the 15th century.
And we’re here to look at this, the Gladiator X7000 by Benlydesign a watch whose very pronounced case is inspired by muscular beauty, exuding strength and power while also integrating an OLED display to amplify the visual presentation of time.

Okay my first impressions was more of Knight Rider from the 80s but the more I look at it it does have a Buck Rogers or Battlestar Galactica kind of feel

The Titanium Blue S1001TR is a higher spec of the Benlydesign range. Slightly different design however.

i like the design but i have some issues with this. what kind of movement is this? without any details it sounds like its inhouse, maybe they manufacture the display but whats operating it? mineral? for such a small display sapphire would have been much much better and not alot more expensive. zinc alloy? im not an engineer but these alloys are used in cheaper watches. the standard is 316l stainless and for good reasons. too bad, the second i saw this i clicked the link and got really confused and disappointed.

Hi mate. 1) they don't disclose the mechanics of the movement but as it's a (cheap) digital watch that runs on a Japanese CR2032 battery, I'm comfortable with it's nuts and bolts. 2) I agree it should have been sapphire. 3) I think because there is such a large surface area on this watch (the huge case) and therefore manufacturing of this watch require a lot less intricacy but larger volume of material needed to create the case, coupled with the fact that it is on the budget/cheap side, I understand their choice of zinc alloy. 4) apologies you were confused and disappointed. Most digital watch use mineral and only high end (think $1000+ GShock) use sapphire. In fact, mineral on digital watches is considered semi-premium, with acrylic being the basic. Digital an entirely different beast to mechanical micros 😊
