Been searching for this tutorial for months, finally one that is really detailed, clear and probably the way Benn TK does it himself. Thanks a lot man! Really appreciate sharing with us. Hope to see more, maybe a tutorial about the scene with the mirror tiled man (Europe - 12 countries in 24 days minute 1:21) or making buildings (like in his same video building the Eifel tower on 1:27) for which I guess he uses photoshop to mask the building and replace with comparable background. However I'm afraid those are even more advanced transitions.

Really appreciate the comment man! I will forsure do a tutorial on at least one of those you. I'm pretty sure you are correct about the buildings one or if it was a video you could use Mocha Pro (not the free version) which is suuuuper powerful in object removal and creating similar like backgrounds.

@@VenturingJames Would be great! Indeed, been hesitating to invest in Mocha Pro but it's quite expensive for a plug-in for a non-professional user. Couldn't one replicate the effect using the built-in tools of AE (wasting more time but savings money)? Btw, my main reason for looking at Mocha (pro) was to get around the 3d tracking and warp stabilizer issues of AE CC 2019 on a Mac with latest software Mojave installed. Apparently Mojave no longer supports CUDA 10 (if I understood correctly). Any idea whether Mocha Pro requires CUDA supporting software? Or any other workaround other than downgrading my operating system back to High Sierra? Thanks!

@@gillespringels1 It is SO EXPENSIVE for a non user. I was contemplating the investment as well, but you are correct to an extent I think. For simple cases such as just a building with a sky it wouldn't be too much of an issue, but once you get some moving subjects within your shot along with your camera moving it would get time consuming real quick haha. But technically you are right, could do all of it in AE.

Nice tutorial, Thank you ! I think adding a bit of extrusion to the flat door would give it more depth and consistency, improving the realism of the effect.

Great video my man , nailed it on point , i thing that i would have done , is making the door either open slower or making your zoom in faster so that they would be both at the same speed wich would be more realistic , still a great job!

Yeah I totally agree man. I didn't want to spend too much time in the tutorial perfecting it, but 100% agree with you. If you add those little corrections the effect will look better.

Hi, amazing tutorial but i have a problem with someone clip (not with all), when i copy the position of the solid layer in the door images layer, if I go ahead in the timeline the door layer don't follow the tracking video. Thanks

Instead of turning the image on and off to scale accurately, reduce the opacity so you can see through it.

For the last part couldn’t you just had parent the open door to the other layer to just follow?

If I remember correctly I don't think I could because the door was a 3D layer and the other footage was 2D. If they were both 3D I think you would be able to. Something interesting to test and see though.

i guess he also used photos of doors to achieve this effect which is much much easier to edit.
