5 year travel ball parent here. The older they get, the more they'll call the batters interference. But from the looks of it, they took full advantage that yall were a younger, inexperienced team and pulled that move intentionally since the ump was constantly giving them the call. Kinda bush league if you ask me, but at least yall still got the win. The batter just has to stand like a statue after the pitch. Any movement that's not a swing could be called for interference. Its up to the umpire.

that’s insane! you don’t have to make an attempt to get out of the way. you are supposed to stand still and protect your runner. now if you do try to back out of the way and the catcher makes contact with you or the ball hits you while you’re stepping out of the box, then you’re out. but that didn’t happen once.

Haha I love the honesty, today my I saw agame where a team had to face the L on elimination game Regionals. The blue at second base was not in the correct position to make some crucial calls; and the coaches also missed some opportunities to challenge the plays. In certain times a coach has to be in the game and sometimes they’re multiple so someone has to have angles and keep a 3rd eye open on the game. After all it is a team game.

as an umpire, they were not interfering with the play. the batters job is to stay as still as possible, which they were mostly doing, but at their age, it won't be perfect. the catcher should have enough room to throw anyways since they're shorter. that ump was very picky lol.

They were all batter interference cause they were backing out of the box during the throw. Stand still in the box if you make a move out of the box it can be called regardless if the ball hits them or not. Some umpires are more stringent than others. Just stand still and don’t move and your good, don’t have to duck or anything.
