If you did the same thing but chose to be Black Lives Matter or some other org you could open yourself up to a lawsuit as well. Apparently my dad lived in Georgia for a time and was basically the only person who knew how to drive in snow. He said once he called a friend asking if he wanted to go for a joyride after a light dusting of snow. His friend was confused until he remembered my dad was from southeast Ohio, where it snows, is hilly, and when my dad was growing up, had plenty of gravel roads. As you can imagine he was unfazed by what kind of minimal snowfall shuts down the American south.
