Benro WH15 Fluid Head Review

Thank you for this review. It really helps me in comparing different fluid heads. I also shoot the Nikon Z9 with the 800 mm F/6.3 lens as my primary lens for bird photography. So, your experience with this fluid head is extremely relevant to me!

I now own two Leofoto BV-20K fluid heads. One for my Z9/800mm camera, and one for a KOWA 99mm spotting scope. They are the best bargain in the market I find. You can often find them on sale for any even better price!

Hey there! I've had such high hopes for this one and thought of it for 3 months. Then decided to buy it even received discount for it but I was very disappointed and saw not a single difference from my Gimbal GH2. Even worse - I'm so used to GH2's handle that there is no such handle in these so called video heads. It made not a single better video as it should. Still shaking whatever tension i tried and all... Lucklily/unfortunately they didn't noticed somebody used it before me as it had scratches and the handle was actually ruined (the plastci was all twisted). They apologised although I don't know how basic quality control could miss an obvious months of use no matter if it was sample model or whatver. So the mistery stayed if it was broken or it's just that bad of a head although so expensive. There weren't any reviews here either so I'm glad you made this vide. It's unfortunate that if THIS is the quality of such expensive head, what is the quality of the less expensive models... I have the exact same combo - z9/800mm PF and I'm fince with GH2 overall as I only make 4k120p videos when using the combo but can't find any fluid head for real FLUID movements when using 800mm. I'm eager to try Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 but it requires new plates and blah-blah and I live far from the city now with no option for test only (or I will have to go to the store with the z800 to try it on site. This is recent upload so I suspect you are disappointed as me 6 months ago, haha. I'm really stunned how famous Benro are but most of their products are just not good or it's a loterry situation...

Apparently the specs for Swiss Arca rails vary from different manufacturers. The one on my lens would fit in the clamp. But only if I tilted it toward the screw knob side first. Then it would drop in. If I tilted it the opposite way it wouldn’t drop down. But it was the counter rotation spring engagement issue that caused me to return it.

I dont have the issue with the Arca Foot. My foot and WH15 are fine. Both drag control are indeed an issue. Sad, the idea would be good but the execution is no good. And it is really heavy. Sadly i cant return mine anymore....
